waveshare 2.42inch OLED Display Module 128×64 Resolution for Raspberry Pi/forArduino/STM32/ESP32/Jetson Nano, with SSD1309 Driver Chip SPI / I2C Communication 3.3V / 5V, White Display Color

Didn't work. I used the offical documentation, and tried connecting it to both a pico and a raspberry pi 3A+. Either didnt work.

Made a nice upgrade to project with great visibility and size. Worked as expected when connected. Price worth the upgrade in size.

This 2.42” OLED display from WaveShare is a solid choice for Raspberry Pi projects, but be prepared for some setup challenges. While the display quality is great—with crisp text and sharp contrast—the installation process isn’t as smooth as it could be.Getting it to work on a Raspberry Pi 5 was tricky, mainly due to some missing or outdated packages that required workarounds. This is not a plug-and-play display, so expect to spend some time configuring drivers and libraries. Thankfully, WaveShare provides decent documentation on their website, which helps streamline the process.Once set up, the display performs as expected and is a great addition to any Pi project. A solid 4-star product—just know that it requires some technical effort to get running.

I miraculously found the installation page for this. Followed the instructions, doesn’t even power on. Just doesn’t work. Ordered a replacement, still doesn’t work. The instructions also were kluge AF you have to follow sections for your device that aren’t even clearly labeled. Though this would be a cool project but everything waveshare is DOA. I’ve never gotten any of their products to work.

Works just like other smaller monochrome oled displays. Looks good across the room.
