This chest strap for backpacks is a very good quality product, innovative and convenient. Differentiated from another articles in Amazon that looks cheap quality, this strap is great quality, nice looking and very practical.

So far, so good. Been using this strap on my Tomtoc backpack for a little over a week now. The magnetic buckle is really nice. Super secure. Fastens securely into the ring loops on shoulder straps. Fits nicely too. I’m able to expand it to accommodate my wider frame too. I haven’t used it on a long trip or a flight yet (just a short weekend trip and day to day use) so I’m not sure how everything will hold up in that scenario. But, I imagine it will be fine given the durability of the parts and overall construction. Definitely worth shelling out a little more money (though, I think the price should be a little lower) instead of risking going with something less expensive and flimsier.

Yes, this sternum strap is expensive. In fact, it might cost a third or more of the price of the pack you're installing it on. However, if you're like me you might have some excellent higher end packs that either don't have a sternum strap or don't have a very good one. This product can transform those packs! The magnetic quick release function works like magic, and once you try it, it's hard to go back to any other buckle. This system is much more intuitive than any other magnetic latch I've tried, and it won't accidentally reconnect with the bag off body like others that also use magnets. I rotate through a lot of packs and I don't like reinstalling these, so I've now ordered 3 of these to keep on my packs in the rotation. Highly recommended!

I put this on a backpack that I use for work travel. This sternum strap is an impressive piece of equipment. Works as advertised. The magnet clamp is solid and the fast release is outstanding. Worth the extra money.

If it holds up, it will be well worth the money.I got this for my child's backpack. The chest strap on the current backpack was not easy for a young child to undo and closing it often resulted in pinching, so it wasn't used and the backpack often slipped off 1 or more shoulders, dragging on the ground.....This, at it shortest setting, fit my 4 year old perfectly. Now getting the backpack on and off is sonething my child can do independently. There are other ones that wrap around the shoulder strap that do not have 1in molle strap for this to attach to. This one was able to be attached to the existing shoulder straps so the other wasn't needed.It it a bit spendy compared to the cost of a child's backpack, but it is removable and extendable, so if it is durable, it will easily transfer to my child's future backpacks, if that happens, it will be well worth it.I did some stress testing and it did seem sturdy enough to endure elementary school life. But the joy my child had putting it together and seperating it independently was immeasurable. My child was happy to share it didn't pinch.Currently my only "complaint" is lack of color options and that is reason for 4 stars rather than 5I would give it a 4.5. Black is a great go-to color but lacks individuality. But I get this isn't being marketed for kid use, so maybe bright orange or desert camo are not profitable.

I carry a heavy computer backpack daily and it was constantly slipping off my shoulder. This add on chest strap solved the problem. It slid onto back pack shoulder strap below the padding. Cinching the straps closer together and also helping to reposition the center of gravity. What is nice about this product is the closure. It is magnetic and designed to stay secure but yet easily release with one hand when needed. Love it. The only caveat I have is this is designed for one inch width straps, wider will not fit. But otherwise super satisfied.

When Amazon asked me to review this item I had completely forgotten that this was a third party addon to my backpack - it feels like it was part of my pack all along.It's comfortable, feels very durable, and the magnetic latch is both easy to secure and easy to undo. It holds strong the moment it clamps together, and I've never encountered a situation so far where the latch came undone on its own under stress.I'm bookmarking this purchase for the future, as I can see this being useful in other situations.

It makes a really satisfying clicking noise and works great as an impromptu fidget. The buckle is quiet heavy compared to plastic ones and the action of pulling away the magnet is awkward if you have carpal tunnel/reduced sensation in your hands. I got the Mountain Laurel Designs "Awesome Sternum Strap" instead. Cheaper, lighter feeling on the skin and easier to open.
