Love these scales.
Love these scales. Very accurate and we both love the tracking and where we can see our progress.

Doesn’t know the difference between bare feet and socks
One star. I got ONE reading from it and three days later, every single time I step on it, it says I have socks on. Garbage. £150 right down the drain.Proof in photo - I’m bare footed and it’s showing the ‘socks detected’ error

Not good for fat or muscle tracking
Not very accurate for tracking fat and muscle which is reason I bought it. 5% out which is pretty significant. I got it for Christmas but then my gym got a fancy inbody scales which is more accurate. My home scales says I have 25% body fat and gym scales says 19%. I have been losing fat while gaining muscle for past 16 weeks but my home scales doesn’t show this at all. It’s only good for tracking weight.

Does not meet the typical Garmin quality
Pros:- looks good, physically well made product- measures a comprehensive set of measurements- once set up, works as advertised and records all measurements into Garmin ConnectCons:- flaws in the basics: switching the scale on is an exercise in randomness, there is no reliable way to switch on the device. There are hundreds of forum entries on this problem in the Garmin forums with users posting videos of their own method to switch it on. That is such a glaring flaw in this product and is really annoying.- The setup is clumsy and cumbersome. Adding another person requires a complicated multi step approval process in the baroque Garmin Connect menu system. (Basically, you cannot give this as a gift to your parents and expect them to succeed setting it up.)- No guest measurements except for weight: if you did not register via Garmin Connect, then the scale only measures weight for a guest user. There is no way to measure body fat, muscle mass, bone mass, water percentage without a clumsy Garmin Connect registration. I am not aware of any other brand scale that has such limitation.- The display scrolls-in the measurements but the scrolling is laggy. Maybe I am too picky here but it is 2024 and this scale costs more than 200 pound, so if Garmin decides to scroll-in text I expect it to be butter smooth. I thought laggy scrolling stopped in 2015 or so.Overall I am generally quite positive about Garmin products but this one really falls short, especially at the ultra premium price tag.

Good, but not totally reliable.
Nice piece of kit, but not entirely user friendly, unfortunately they seem to fail after 3 or 4 years, I’m on my second set now and sure enough it seems to be going the way of the first, regularly disconnecting from the internet and showing an incorrect weight, I suspect water ingress to be the issue, I would have hoped that something potentially spending a lot of time in a bathroom would be more resilient.
