Manage your expectations - 1 x M.2 NVME; 2 x M.2 SATA support
While this card serves my purpose, it may not for you. Points to be aware of.1 - there is support for only ONE M.2 NVME (faster storage)2 - there is support for TWO M.2 SSD (slower storage)3. M.2 SSD is more expensive to buy, and slower - this is ok, if you already have M.2 SSDs that you want to useThe Read and write speeds on my Samsung 970 is as advertised, using this Startech card - so it's great for me.

NOT FOR NVMe M.2 - ITs SATA M.2 ONLY
Be sure you understand the card here and what it is - it is not for NVMe, it is for SATA M.2 which is different. So that Samsung 970 (etc) will get cooked if you try to force it into the slot on this card.I repeat again, this is *not* NVMe M.2, it is SATA M.2 (There are lots of differences for M.2)The description does not make this clear enough in the listing.

Fantastic Way of Adding an M2 SSD to Your Motherboard via PCI Express
I bought this to work around the limitations of my motherboard.Whilst my motherboard does have three m2 card slots, one is directly under my GPU and the other reduces the X4 down to an X2. Using this, I am able to ensure that my X4 remains at full speed for a thunderbolt 3 expansion card.I am getting the same speeds as I was when my Samsung 960 Evo was attached directly to my motherboard.Very happy with the card, especially as I have the option of adding two additional SATA III SSDs in the future :)

Works instantly, great expansion card
Added 1 512gb PCIE NVME card ( very fast ) and 2 SSD 1TB cards ( slower ), PC Boots in a blink, everything runs faster, and quieter than using discrete HDD.The PCIE card is placed on the back of this adaptor, make sure it isn't too close to a neighbouring adaptor card to ensure good ventilation.Strongly suggest any Paging file is placed on an external hard disk, heavy paging activity will contribute to the wear on the SSDs causing premature ageing and potential early loss of available space/failure.[ This particularly applies to Windows systems with less than 16gb Memory, or office style setups using many programs open at once, or teenagers on Gaming programs.]

Fast speeds, but the screws are not fit for purpose.
Nothing wrong with the PCI card and I get the documented speeds. However, the screws in the box are not fit for purpose, other reviews have indicated that the screws are missing, it looks like this has been addressed by adding screws that are for a different product! I'll never know how this got passed quality control.I've bought two of these and both have the same frustrating issue.
