Make sure it’s the right connector for you
It was only after I purchased this that I realized it was the newer version that needs a type c connection for which I purchased an adaptor type A to type C connector. The type A connectors work fine, the type C doesn’t. However I think this is because of the way I have had to connect it to my older iMac not a problem with the product.I have this 5 stars as it is my error for not checking the connector type, not a fault of the product which is great quality.

Outstanding customer service!
Bought one of these in July 2019 and, although the SD card reader was inconsistent from day 1 and the card needed a wiggle to be read, it eventually died in November...Not expecting much, I contacted the seller, who sent me a new, no quibble replacement that works perfectly.I had not expected this and the guys were in touch constantly to keep me up to speed on the replacement.Over and beyond what I'd hoped for and I'm a very impressed and happy customer - and have no hesitation in recommending these guys -- or from buying from them again. Thanks guys - seriously impressed. :-)

Very neat and a doddle to fit - now got ports at the front.
I get fed up of having to turn my iMac around to fit USB and other connections. Newer iMacs have now got the SD card slot at the back as well. This clamp hub is a neat solution for those of us who connect devices to the Mac's USB ports and SD cards. I found it very easy to fit - took less than a minute and no fiddling - and it is secure, looks great and provides a decent selection of ports. It clamps into the ventilation slots at the base of the Mac screen and the cable fits into a Thunderbolt/USB-C port at the back. It looks a perfect match for the iMac in material and colour.Inserting USB connectors to the hub is easy but the Mac can swivel as you do so, therefore I just hold the screen with one hand and pop the USB in with the other. There are cheaper hubs on the market; this one met my needs and is well-built so I think it is worth the additional cost.

It actually works perfectly!
I don't normally write reviews unless it's perfect perfect perfect, this product fits the bill.I was a little sceptical after reading reviews from 5 star to one star but I was looking for something like this for my iMac for ages so I took a chanceNow I can only speak on my 2019 iMac not the newer iMac model out there, however if it has the vents underneath it (See pictures to see if it matches your iMac's vent underneath), then it should fit without issue.Someone was upset on their review that the USB C stopped working. I don't know if this will work but I'm using Type C to USB 3. adapter (the link is below) which is not plugged in the type C USB port but in one of the 4 normal USB at the back and it works absolutely finehttps://www.amazon.co.uk/Adapter-Connector-supports-MacBooks-smartphones-Gray/dp/B09F18CYGW/ref=sr_1_8?keywords=usb%2Bc%2Bto%2Busb%2Bb%2Badapter&qid=1638978576&s=computers&sr=1-8&th=1It's well built, it's very secure and so far it does what it says on the tin for the price. However If it doesn't in the future then I will definitely do an update in the future.

Adds very convenient inputs to the front of your iMac
I have an iMac 27" and it is a right pain in the rear end to plug in my various USB cables or SD cards. But this has 3 x USB connectors now sitting right beneath my screen, plus the USB C (which I have used a generic USBC - USB cable to give me a fourth connection, as I have no USBC items) and the SD card reader along with a micro-SD card reader. This last item is extremely handy with my various cameras / drones that all use micro-SD cards, no more fiddling around the back of the monitor to plug them in. Looks the business as well, exact match for the iMac and, really, ought to be standard with all iMacs, as it makes life so much easier!

Cumbersome to use, different colour than iMac Pro's, SD slot is not UHS II. Not a good value
The idea of this product is genius. The implementation is so-so. There are several things I don't like about this product, considering Satechi's brand quality:1) colour not same as my space grey iMac Pro - it is lighter. Satechi's saying this is due to different manufacturing process. I say - bollocks. Apple is not making the iMac pro in 50 shades of grey.2) the installation was relatively simple, but not as easy as I thought it will be. The tightening with the wheel needs higher pressure than expected3) 2 out of the 3 usb3 ports are very tight and I can barely insert a flash drive/cable in it. In order to do so I have to counter pressure the iMac from behind. This defeats the purpose of a simple usage. Every time when I plug something in or out, I need to use both my hands.4) the SD card slot is only UHS-I. This is unacceptable. Why they cheap out here is over my mind. I knew about this disadvantage prior buying and this is why I was holding on for many months, hoping they will release an updated version. Also, when you insert a SD card, it is sticking out quite a lot. Only the chip is inside. It took me many plug ins until I got familiar with it.5) the usb-c port is not 40 Gb/s. It provides only usb 3 speed. As you see, there are many cons in this expensive product. It's not all bad, but I think Satechi did wrong in 90% of the things possible to go wrong with. This is just not acceptable for such a brand with similar to Apple accessories price tags. If you take a look at they Mac Mini hub, you will also find many negative comments about it. It's time for Satechi to step up their game and release products only when they are perfectly thought out and working as one would expect.
