At 22 years of age in 1900 Marius Fabre founded his eponymous soap company in Salon-de-Provence. In the four generations since the company has remained in the hands of the family which continues to make soap that is cooked in a cauldron to traditional Marseilles soap-making methods. Made from vegetable oils with no artificial coloring, added fragrances or synthetic products, Marius Fabre’s Marseilles olive oil soap cubes are particularly gentle on the skin and on the environment. Extremely economical, they last even longer if left to dry out. 100% natural. Marius Fabre makes Marseilles soap exclusively from a rigorous selection of vegetable oils with no coloring and no synthetic additives. The soap is free of petroleum-based products, palm oils and animal fats, unlike most of the other soaps and shower gels on the market. Gentle on the skin, natural and effective. The traditional Marseilles soap manufacturing process is soap that is entirely free of impurities. It is gentle on all types of skin. Includes two 200g (7 oz) cubes of olive oil Marseille soap.

Repeat order - 2 bars this time
My wife convinced me to use this for my face. I’ve used it for more than just that.It lasts longer than I could have expected, it works well, and, as a retired guy, I especially notice its subtle effects in the winter. When I first bought it seemed expensive. Now I understand it’s not, given longevity and quality.

Great Stocking Stuffers
I’ve been a fan of Savon de Marseille for years and bought these to give as little Christmas gifts, along with an internet printout of the background and versatility of this ancient, pure soap.

Not accurate weight
I have known this product for years. It’s natural, doesn’t contain harsh chemical and perfect for DIY detergent. That being said I’m very disappointed with the weight, it’s not accurate. For both boxes, i’ve weighted 170g instead of 200g as labeled on the package.Great product, but I’m not getting what I paid for as advertised.

great for washing pans and laundry.
It looks so nice in the square dish soap tray that says SAVON (also sold on Amazon). The smell that many seem to dislike dissipates quickly! shabby chic/French farmhouse/Martha Stewart-ish

Excellent Soap!
I found out about this soap a little over a year ago and now I will not use any other soap. It moisturizes very well, and the main ingredient is olive oil. It leaves your hands soft and smooth even after multiple daily washings. It's not a fragrant soap but the scent is not disagreeable. The bottom line is that IT WORKS!

Going right in the trash
I rarely write reviews but am compelled to warn others. I say this as someone that uses all natural products, this smells disgusting. As another user aptly put it, like bus exhaust.I should’ve bought the real stuff from a local boutique. Have been ill so ordered thinking it was the same. It’s very much not. Packaging was powdery, and not how pictured. Had to go wash my hands with other soap after handling this.Absolutely awful, please save yourself the money and hassle and don’t buy.

are the cauldrons, in which this soap is made, heated with wood fires?
The aesthetics of this block of soap is stimulating and unique. The size is all-conquering; the color is aninviting olive drab; the deep stampings impart the aura of authenticity; the scent, for an UNSCENTED SOAP, issenseless, even incomprehensible. Is this soap manufactured in the crucibles of hell? Burnt rubber, creosote,a forest fire nearby, wafting its noxious smoke into the drying rooms of the factory? If you enjoy tar shampooyou will fall in love with this soap.
