A very serviceable alarm clock
First off, the display is BIG! As in HUGE! As in YOU CANNOT MISS IT!! It's perfect for "older" eyes that are starting to "go dim" and such. It's also EXTREMELY BRIGHT - as in "room illumination" quality brightness. Thankfully it has a dimmer or adjusting how bright it is while you sleep.Second, at "full volume" the alarm is LOUD! unless you're "stone deaf", you can't help not hearing it. If you're a "sound" sleeper (like me!), it WILL wake you up! The "snooze pad" on top is VERY SENSITIVE to touch (I suspect it's a "capacitive" mode sensor, not a mechanical button).Third, it's a great "size" for a table or desk top. It's "design" will fit any decor. If there's any "fault" with the case, I think it's a little "thin" and could be easily "tipped over" as the clock is pretty light in weight. Just be sure your cat(s) don't find it and consider it a "toy". ;)Fourth, it's Not too Difficult to set the time and alarm. The '24-hour" display mode is a nice plus, particularly for those (like myself!) who prefer "24-hour" clock displays. Finally, the "USB power" scheme means that it'll operate from ANY USB "A" port (i.e., computer, laptop) with the supplied power cable (which is a nice SIX FEET LONG). Thankfully, a "power module" is also supplied for using Household AC power as well. If you happen to have a "multi-outlet adapter" with USB "A" power ports, you can also power the clock from it.So far, I'm satisfied with this clock and I DO RECOMMEND IT.

Great! I recommend the white display!
Extremely visible day or night! Numbers are large and clear; we dim them way down at night and they’re still clearly visible. When I get up in the morning I brighten them up to full power. The white numbers seem best; blue or red numbers have always messed with my eyes at night. It keeps great time and was easy to set up. We don’t use the alarm, but the dimming feature is very welcome.

Love Dimmable and color change settings
I CAN FINALLY SEE THE TIME IN THE MIDDLE.OF THE NIGHT. I'm just mad 8 didn't invest in this sooner. Of course I don't where my glasses while I'm sleeping and with this clock I can see what time it is when i wake up in the middle of the night. I'm in love with the fact I can dim the brightness and change the color so it's not a bright color.

I can see what time it is
I bought this clock as a replacement for one with a black background and 2” blue led numbers. It was a nice clock but I could not read it across my bedroom. This larger clock with a black background and dimmable white numbers is terrific. I can now see how much longer I’ve got to sleep, lol.

I AM HAPPY
I ordered this large size alarm clock so that I could see the time in large numbers in a dark area or room. It was kind of a trial and error to figure out how exactly set the time. I figured it out but want it synchronized with other electrical items that have tell time. I ordered two alarm clocks and one came with batteries in the back [that did not work] and the other one did not have the batteries. I put brand new batteries in and thought that the clock would work with either batteries OR electric plug. Once I disconnected the electric plug the batteries DID NOT WORK. The instructions say it will [only] work if there is a power outage. I would have liked to have the option to use batteries only which is one of the reasons I bought it but not the main reason. Also, I now wonder it have to manually reset the time for Daylight Savings Time and Eastern Standard Time. Overall, I AM HAPPY WITH THE CLOCK because I can see the large numbers which is what I wanted and needed.

DREAMSKY DIGITAL ALARM CLOCK -- MODEL DS306
I had originally ordered the smaller version of this (DS312), and was underwhelmed with its size, but overwhelmed with its features. Though I am keeping and using the smaller one, I ordered the larger one for a spare. See the comparison picture. This one is 8-1/2" wide X 1-1/2" deep, and the digital read-out is 3" high with a robust bright blue that really stands out and I can see it without my glasses. The box, instructions and warranty card lend itself to the whole presentation, as this seems like a nice quality clock. The approach to the technology behind it is fairly simple compared to some. There are 4 buttons on the back. Because it's larger, it differs from its little brother, in that all the buttons are not the same size. In this one, the two middle adjustment buttons are smaller, I guess to differentiate them from the other two buttons. The second from the left, is the 12/24 HR button, which toggles back and forth from standard to 24-hour military time. When it is on the standard setting, after 12 Noon, it will display a 1/4" high "PM" in the upper left corner of the display on front. The second from the right, is the AL ON/OFF button and when you push it to engage the alarm, in the middle at the bottom, a "bell" icon will be displayed. When the alarm sounds, you can snooze it by touching the sensor at the top, and the bell icon will blink, and the it will go off again in 9 minutes. You can turn it off by pressing ANY of the four buttons in the back. Absolutely awesome! That beats trying to find just the right button in the dark. And, the cherry on top of the cake, is when you turn it off, it is automatically set for the next day. It doesn't get any better than that. The alarm will sound for only two minutes then stop if no action is taken. If the alarm is engaged, you press this button to disengage it, and the bell icon on the front disappears. The first, on the left, is the Time Set button. You long press it once to change the hour, using the 2nd button (12/24 HR) to move the time forward, and the 3rd button (AL ON/OFF) to move the time backward; the press it again to set the minutes. Then press it again to lock it in, and leave that mode. The first, on the right, is the ALARM SET button. If you short press it, it gives you the time the alarm is set for. You long press it once to change the hour, using the 2nd button (12/24 HR) to move the time forward, and the 3rd button (AL ON/OFF) to move the time backward; the press it again to set the minutes. Then press it again to lock it in, and leave that mode.To the left of the first button, is a wheel to adjust the volume (30 dB to 90 dB) of the alarm. It is a nice loud alarm. To the right of the last button is a wheel to adjust the level (0% to 100%) of illumination on the digital readout. It is very bright, but not enough to be distracting, or possibly keep you awake. On the back, there are two USB ports. One for the cord to power the unit, and the other to charge your cell phone. There is also a back-up battery compartment, which holds two AAA batteries. During a power outage, they will only save your time and alarm settings, the time will not be displayed, the alarm will not sound. At the bottom are four non-skid feet. This IS the one you're looking for. It really rocks. If you're looking for a more substantial sized, well-made clock, this is pretty much the perfect alarm clock. It's easy to set, easy to snooze, and easy to reset for the next day.UPDATE (DEC 2023): The initial smaller version of this clock lasted for 3 years; and then I began using the larger version. Because I was so impressed with the operation and durability of this clock, I had ordered another to keep as a spare. Yep, it's that good.UPDATE to the UPDATE (JAN 2024): The replacement lasted less than a month before it started acting up- specifically, buttons are not responding when they're touched. Luckily I ordered a replacement last month. So, shoppers, it looks as though the lifespan of these units are about 3 years, till the internal electronics begin checking out. Which means, instead of buying 2 at a time, buy just 1. Then, after about 2-3/4 years in, put it on your "To-Do" list to buy another. I still like the clock, and I'm going to continue to use it.BTW I would suggest purchasing a longer USB cord, because the one they provide is not long enough. At least for me, snaking it from the outlet, around the bed, to the clock, and situating it on my nightstand, was a bit challenging.
