Mnemonics, is a great method to use to build one's vocabulary. I highly recommend this book as using visual imagery works. Once the learner can associate the word with a well known image the word that previously seemed difficult to learn becomes easy and familiar. Teachers and parents of reluctant word learners should find this book interesting.

This book is awesome!! My daughter is in 5th grade and I have been trying to find a practical and effective way for her to study vocabulary. This book is so fun and enjoyable. My daughter often uses the vocabulary words in her everyday conversations now. We both enjoy the funny cartoons and I am learning too.

Cartoons make vocabulary real, but there weren't any exercises, so it's not really good for vocabulary study. I think it would be good to have in your home for enrichment for students who enjoy reading and study.

An excellent book for kids to learn new vocabulary

This vocabulary book is amazing! I really wish that there were more to purchase for once we complete this one. I plan to use this book in my homeschool. I know for a fact my kids will get a kick out of the cartoons and they really will help the definitions stick. What I like is that after it teaches a few words it also includes a review sheet to cover those words.

I homeschool 3rd and 5th grade boys and have really enjoyed using Vocabulary Cartoons. It's one subject that I never have to beg them to do. I have the 3rd grader doing one page a day and the 5th grader 2 a day which is not much. They really enjoy the cartoons and play on words to help them remember what the vocabulary words mean. It's a subject that they've taken on to do independently which is a big help to me. The Review tests every so often help me to determine if they are really absorbing these words or not and the ease of layout is great for the kids.
