I bought the HIC 6.5” toaster tongs in 2015, and they served us faithfully almost daily for eight years before breaking. I don’t usually write reviews, but I happened to notice the old order in my purchase history and decided to write a review because I’m so impressed with how long they lasted, especially for the price! When I was trying to buy a replacement, I mistakenly thought I had originally bought them at a store, and I couldn’t find them again. So I bought a two-pack of some other bamboo tongs here on Amazon. The first pair didn’t last more than a couple months. We’ll see how long the second pair lasts, but I’m not very optimistic. These HIC tongs also opened a little wider than my new tongs, which made it easier to grab things like bagels or thick-cut toast. Overall, I may end up getting another pair of the HIC toaster tongs when my new ones inevitably break in a couple months.

I needed replacement tongs for my toast tong and another one for my bamboo ice bucket. These are very useful and this was a good price for 2.

I had a pair previously but kid broke them so these are replacements. They are wonderful.

Having a magnet on the side would make this five stars. It is very handy, easy to clean, and works as advertised. No more burnt fingers for me! A great price for a handy little gadget that takes up almost no room at all.

You know how once in a while a gadget actually lives up to the hype and makes your life more simple?These bamboo tongs save you from burning your fingers getting hot toast out of the toaster. We like it so much we got an identical set for the RV. There are lots of other brands out there and I don't know how good they are, but this one is good.

We've been using these tongs daily for about 6 weeks now, and we are very pleased. We wanted some tongs that we could use to retrieve English muffins from the toaster without risking electrocution. These have worked great.Good points about the tongs: - They are durable. We haven't noticed any change in their shape, despite repeated use. - They are attractive. It's hard to tell from the picture, but they look nice. We (hand) wash them from time to time, and they still look brand new. No change in the color. - They work!! We have unsuccessfully tried other tongs that are slightly rounded. These tongs, however, are flat. They slide right between the toast or English muffins and the inside of the toaster. They are long enough to provide a good grip with enough force to lift out the toast or muffin. - They won't electrocute you. Some tongs (terrifyingly) have metal insides. These are completely wood. No need to unplug the toaster before using them.No bad points to mention about these tongs. They are great, and we highly recommend them.

I had to get this to save lives. (And my house, and my breakfast.) We entertain out-of-state guests alot. They're always invited to stay over. The ladies handle the evening meal, and the guys struggle through, I mean equally handle, breakfast the next morning. Recently, my brother-in-law, the LICMSW (CT State social worker), and my better-half, I said better - not smarter, an engineer for the government (I won't say what kind of engineer or he may never be able to show his face in public again) were making mock Macmuffins. To make a long, woefully pitiful story short, the scenario involved 8 hungry adults, the two afore-mentioned educated men, a plugged-in toaster, two piles of English muffins, one toasted, the other waiting to be so, a stainless-steel fork, and eagle-eyed me. I let out a scream of "what the %#*@ are you two trying to do yourselves, my house, and all of our breakfasts?" It wasn't pretty, but it got down right ugly, when they responded, with their cute middle-age little boy faces that they do it all the time. Exit stainless-steel fork, enter bamboo toast tong. I love that they are made of a very sustainable product, and that the guys can continue to make the gals breakfast without the need to have 911 on speed-dial.

We love these toast tongs. The length keeps finger well back from the top of the toaster and can be used to grab anything that got caught in the bottom of the toasting space. No one says "ouch" anymore when reaching for the toast when it pops.
