Fintastic!
The media could not be loaded. This video was taken a few hours after setting up the aquarium after a move to a new location. The water was already looking clear but my goldfish were sluggish from not having a filter for a couple days. This filter system almost instantly made them feel high on life! I like it so much more than the traditional filtration that went on the back of the tank. It’s quieter and the fish get all the oxygen they need to feel their best. This is a 55 gallon tank and the product is easy to use, basically unwrap and submerge the entire thing except the air hose. Plug it in and watch your fish party!

Kicks dinos fast
I have owned 2 of these and they are the bomb! The first one was broke though when I tried to use it again because I had dinos in my tank and I was past return date so bought another but I had the dinos a little while so I am sure it helped cure them along with dosing MB7 and Dr Tims product! It took a little while but they were gone! i got them back a year later or so later and as soon as I saw the first indication of them I pulled this bad little baby out and my MB7 and DR Tims and let me tell you they were gone with in a week! If you own a reef tank this is a must!

READ FIRST! It leaks due to design/manufacturing defect.
I bought a JUB-01 in Jan 2024. Installed it in a 70 gal turtle/fish aquarium on my light timer so it only ran about 10 hours per day. It worked great when it was first installed and cleared up the cloudy water in a couple of days. I recently noticed the water getting cloudy again and saw the light was not blue at the bottom. I pulled the filter and when I opened it up the inner quartz tube around the bulb was totally filled with water. The bulb was corroded and shorted out. I am a Plastics Engineer and started looking at the O ring interface to see if silicone grease or a thicker O ring might help fix the issue. However I noticed that it looks like the factory applied a layer of "glue" inside the molded cylinder where the O ring on the quartz tube is supposed to compress and seal. It might have worked, but was poorly executed. It was not smooth and has ripples in the glue surface so the O ring cannot compress evenly and seal. This was not normal for this type of design and after 20 years of working with Chinese suppliers sourcing plastic parts for major US companies, I am guessing the molding diameter was out of specification. To save a few bucks, rather than scrapping the parts, they tried to rework them using a "glue" wiped inside the plastic cylider to decrease the inner diameter by 0.5mm or so and better compress the O ring. However there are large ripples in the hard glue surface so it is not even and there is no way for it to make a good/even compression of the O ring around the entire circumference. Maybe it was smooth enough to work sometimes, but If you get one of these and see a "glue" build up where the quartz tube/ O ring is supposed to seal I do not recommend using it. Just send it back. Looking at reviews from late 2023 to early 2024 a lot of units reported leaking. I'll bet they all have this "glue" rework inside of them. They need to fix the molding process or modify the molding tool so it has the correct dimensions for the O ring to seal without adding crap to the inner sealing surface as a band-aid.

Very effective.
It is working great cleaning my 55 saltwater. It is easier to clean than filters I have had in the past. Very quiet.easy to position in tank.

Cleared my tank, needs instructions.
Worked well at clearing my aquarium. I did not find it exceptionally noisy, but I have other aerators and pumps, so it fit in with everything else. My only complaint, is, there were are no instructions. That is important, especially if someone is new to the hobby. Maybe, the one I got just missed having some put in the box? I have had other UV filters but they were not set up like this one. I was able to figure it out, but I can see where it could be quite confusing.

Saved My Tank
Love my fish; hate cleaning the tank. Our fish tank seems to need a full water change (and scrub) bi-monthly. I have owned fish for many years. However, I was not able to find a balance with this tank and filter combo, then I added this to my tank...while the tank was at it's worse.I returned from traveling for two weeks and the tanks had both green and brown algae. I was fed up and ready to close the tank and put my fish in my outdoor pond (they can survive). However, I have a similar filter in my outdoor pond and I am so glad this filter cleared the algae up after about two-weeks and it has not returned. To the point, I now have to supplement my algae eaters diet.

Excellent for cleaning the water - but some potentially serious issues
Well, it did a great job of changing the tank from green water to clear water - yay! For this I would give it 5 stars, however, somehow a certain amount of water gets inside the quartz sleeve and causes concern about it being right up against the bulb. I put a thin application of gorilla glue around the interior of the sleeve cuff and let it dry before reinstalling the sleeve (now with a tighter fit) and hopefully that will take care of the issue (I haven't checked yet). Also, initially it emitted an impressive amount of air bubbles, but now it produces none at all. For both issues, I emailed the company and got non-sequitur responses to my questions, that were not helpful. 2.5 stars actually.
