This works as advertise. It does keep the baitfish alive. The only complaint I have is that is slightly noisy. It is very strong. Lots of bubbles. For the price, I think it’s a good value.

Pump only lasted about 8 hours and burnt out

We have a 2000gallon koi and goldfish pond in the backyard and decided we needed to add an aerator for this brutal Texas heatwave we are having this summer. I wanted something that was 12-volt and produced a lot of air. I also wanted something that had a timer, so it didn't run continuously. This aerator looked promising, so I bought it to see how it worked. Well, I am happy to report it is working fantastic! The aerator came as a very complete kit including a nice power cable with two copper alligator clips for attaching to a 12-volt battery. I used a Walmart 12v riding mower battery and it is working very well. The aerator only draws .4amps when running so would last a very long time between charges on the battery but for convenience, I hooked up a small 12volt solar panel I had in the garage. I am running 1min on and 14mins off which is a very light duty cycle and should result in it lasting a long time. I know it is working well because first thing in the morning I used to see the fish gulping for air at the surface since pond oxygen levels are lowest at sunrise but since I hooked up the aerator, they no longer do that and are happily swimming around the pond. I should also mention the kit even includes two large air stones, hose and one-way valves to keep water from backing into your pump. Basically, all you need to do is add a 12-volt battery and you are up and running. In summary, I could not be more pleased with the aerator. It is working great and was priced very fair for a nice complete kit. It was intended for boat aerators and of course should work great for that too.
