It is a lovely looking knife, solidly made and very sharp. Professional results at a budget price!
The media could not be loaded. I am obsessed with knives used for preparing food and spend a lot of time keeping them sharp, my wife on the other hand spends a lot of time making them blunt, using them for many tasks that they should not be used for. This knife is made from the same sort of steel that Victorinox use for their Swiss Army Knives and that is why I decided to give this knife a try.The knife arrives in a lovely presentation box and would make a lovely gift for someone. First impressions are very good. The knife looks and feels like a professional chef knife. The handle is polished wood and looks very attractive. The blade is very sharp so care needs to be taken whilst handling it. The description states that the knife is dishwasher safe, but the manufacturer suggests that it is better to wash the knife by hand after each use. I think I will attempt to wash it rather than place it in the dishwasher. The design of the handle is better for use in a dishwasher as there are no metal rivets, something that has been a problem with a number of my older professional chef knives. In the video I have attempted to show how sharp the knife is out of the box and it is very sharp. I have a Tormek sharpening system and use this for my other knives and the Tygart blade was as sharp as my other newly honed blades - impressive. The blade is a little thin compared to some of my other knives, but it is sturdy and the shape is perfect for the majority of tasks that I will be using the knife for. Initially, I thought that the knife was a little light, but the more I used it, the more I liked it and it is fine. Stainless steel will not rust and it should last years if it is not abused. The description states that the knife handle has been ergonomically designed and this is obvious in use, the knife fits easily into the hand and can be gripped solidly in use. I had a smile on my face whilst preparing my first vegetables with it, it was a pleasure to use and I am sure a little quicker at chopping finely than my other 8" chef's knife. I was certainly pleased with the results. This knife is really a budget chef knife. A professional chef knife will cost at least two or three times the price of this one. However, it will do everything the professional chef knife will do and do it as just as well. It is not as sturdy as my other 8" chef knife, but this does not affect how it performs and is not an issue when using it. If you are wanting a good chef knife and do not want to pay a lot of money, you will not be disappointed with this one. It is a lovely looking knife, solidly made and very sharp. If you take care of it and keep it sharp, I see no reason why it will not serve you well for many years. I think it is a fine knife.

If you're looking at this, just buy it.
I bought this looking for a knife that came between Japanese and German in steel hardness. In the top it said it was 58-60 HRC which was really attractive for me and one of the reasons I bought it. I later discovered (from messaging and checking) that is is infact 56-58 HRC.This has not put me off the knife at all. The balance is spot on, the weight and hand feel is perfect for me. It came decently sharp from factory and has cut well in my experience so far. Pinch grip is really nice and the knife feels like an extension of your body. The case isn't the highest quality however is more than enough for the price. I have yet to sharpen it but by the hand feel, lack of the bolster and with the HRC sharpening with whetstones should be quite simple and I feel the edge retention is more than enough for any home cook. I'd maybe go as far as to say that if my experience continues it may even be suitable as a professionals kitchen knife.Cleaning it by hand is rather simple however I have noticed the slightest bit of grit or hard crumb within my tea towel has scratched the surface slightly and have now resorted to drying it with kitchen towel. This doesn't affect use at all just cosmetics.Overall I've given it 4 stars because nothing is perfect and worthy of a true 5 stars. Honestly I would say this is about a 4.7 star. If you are looking for a high quality budget knife this is a go to from my experience so far. Down the road I may have issues however if the lifetime warranty holds true then I have nothing to fear with this knife. If you're looking at this knife go ahead and buy it. I highly doubt you'll be disappointed unless you want matching knives in which case this is the only one they do. I have found a utility knife of similar look minus the etched Damascus but that is it.

Very sharp and lovely to handle
This knife completes my collection and its a very well made one with a fine handle. It comfortably cuts through both meat and salad items, making short work of a couple of steaks over the weekend. The handle is very well finished and is comfortable to hold - I wont be trusting this one to the dishwasher though as i dont want to damage it in any way.If you wanted to buy this as a gift please note it comes in a really nice presentation box in black and red too.

absolutely stunning
This knife is absolutely stunning. The way it comes makes it a very good idea for a gift. I love also the handle which simulates wood. The knife it is very sharp, I have tried it with meat, fish and vegetables and it really does its job.

Probably the best knife I've ever purchased
I bought a knife for £15 a couple of years ago and thought that was good, but this is far better than what I bought in shops. Cuts through meat and vegetables like they were butter.

Good price!
I am a chef for 6 years, I recommend a knife, I have Japanese knives, but I decided to try a German knife, I think this is one of the best choices at a very good price. I recommend someone who likes good knives.
