Perfect Portable Miter Saw Stand
I have had this miter saw stand for about a month now, having a DeWalt 716 Miter Saw mounted to it, and am very pleased with my purchase. This portable stand is very solid! The unit arrived well-packaged and was easy to assemble. The instructions were really clear and easy to follow... I really cant complain. There were no specific instructions for attaching the DeWalt miter saw, and I wished there was a method for a way to mount the bolts (going thru the miter saw base) permanently to the portable stand, so I could mount my miter saw to my shop table when not using it at remote locations. So for now I just leave the miter saw attached to the mobile stand, and use the bench for a router station, or for sanding, etc.I like the solid rubber tires; they give a really smooth ride when moving the saw around. But here is a little concern: there are two locking knobs which lock the saw at a certain location on the platform. You can move the saw to the left or to the right. I mount my saw in such a way that the tires are to the right when I use the saw. If I leave the saw to the right end of the travel, then the tires carry more of the saw weight during sawing. This causes the tires to develop a temporary flat spot, which you would notice when you decide to move the saw to a different location. To lessen this affect, I try to locate the saw to the left end of the frame, away from the tires, which lessens the flat spot on the tires. I must say that the tires are absolutely great! They are a real quality product, and rebound easily from the load affect. The only time I move the saw to the right (tire end) is when I need to utilize the extended brace for long pieces of trim, etc. Also, when you have moved your saw to a new location, then re-set your stand to do work, be certain to re-check your blade for "square" to the base. When you move your saw it will be tilted on end, and with all its weight, the saw will tilt out of square. (Just a notice)If I had to do it over again, I would not hesitate to buy this stand again! It is a perfect match for any miter saw.

Sturdy and Stable
I had previously bought a less expensive folding stand for my very large and heavy DeWalt miter saw. That stand worked OK when set up, but it was horrible when folded up and in storage. The 'foot' at the base was too close to the wheels and the stand would pitch forward if not leaning against a wall. The metal was thin and bent easily, too.I was fed up watching my saw pitch over and decided to splurge on a better stand. This ToughBilt stand took me about 45 minutes to construct, instructions were passable, not great. But the final product exceeded my expectations. Most important to me initially was its stability when folded and in upright position. Stability is great, it's solid. The footing of the stand is one continuous piece of the frame, unlike my old stand that used the stand's 'board support extender' as a very weak and unstable footing. It also folds easily up and down, requiring only a nudge with my foot to release the stand to pivot it to 'up' or 'down'.It is a bit wider than I had expected, so it is not going to winnow through narrow openings, but doors are easy and that width does make it less tippy. This is also not a stand I will toss into the back seat of my car, though, to go help a buddy. It is a big load.Overall, I could not be happier with my upgrade. I got what I wanted. Watching your miter saw crash to the ground a few times can focus you on what is really important in a stand. Cost probably should not be the first on your list as you consider your own purchase. I tossed out my old stand, which in the end I decided was worthless.

SB600 - This thing is rock solid and built like a tank! Highly recommend.
This review is for the S600 stand (not the less expensive and smaller S500). I use this stand for both my Ryobi power miter saw and Triton thickness planer (which is a heavy beast). It works wonderfully for both. The extensions allow me to handle longer boards, and the stops at each end allow me to measure once then power through a number of identical cuts. Work surface is stable and at a good working height. I did get an extra set of “arms” to be able to quickly change out power tools.Assembly was well-documented, and took about 30 minutes. All holes lined up well, and no problems were experienced (that I could not overcome). Only a very small “niggle” - a couple of the bolt heads seemed to be “off” in size... 1/2” wrench too small... 9/16” wrench too big. Wait... pulled out a13mm and it fit just fine. Also one of the small screws that hold the rubber pads onto the frame took a bit persuading to self-tap into the hole. Like I said - really no problems at all. The box was beat to crap by the shipper - but kudos to the ToughBuilt team - all components were intact, had no damage, and all parts present and accounted for. Some reviewers here seem to be leaving comments on the S500 - rest assured the S600 will collapse with your power tool attached and stand upright with no problem. I even left BOTH my thickness planer and power miter saw attached and folded it up - and even then it stood upright. I will not repeat this however - since it was quite difficult to revert to the working position due to the extreme weight it was holding. However, unfolding to working position is quite easy with one tool mounted.
