Product looked decent but there was no thermal pad included as indicated on the manual. Just a big waste of time going through the return process.Edit: I just ran some tests on this enclosure after applying a third-party thermal pad I ordered separately from Amazon. The results show I’m only getting around 960MB/s read and write speeds, which is far below the advertised 20Gbps. A 20Gbps bandwidth should roughly translate to 2500MB/s read and write speeds.For the test, I used a 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe drive with rated speeds of 7000MB/s read and 6500MB/s write, connected to my PC via USB4 ports, not USB3. The results were the same on both ports, so there’s no question of my USB ports bottlenecking the speed. For reference, my USB4 ports are spec’d at 40Gbps and can even support external eGPUs.To rule out issues with the drive itself, I inserted the same NVMe drive directly into my motherboard’s M.2 slot, and I achieved the rated speeds of 7000MB/s read and 6000MB/s write. Based on this, it’s clear the enclosure is not delivering 20Gbps speeds as advertised.This enclosure is going back. I wouldn’t recommend it, especially since you can get a $13 enclosure that delivers similar speeds

I like that it has a fan and keep things cool. I am not a power user. I just use this to back up my machine every few weeks. It works well. Can’t comment on speed or throughput or whatever.

Been using this dock with some old Wester Digital Blue drives from a few years back that would slow way down with sustained reads as they warmed up. I can say I was getting 380 MB\s sustained on a 100G file with no issue. The heat sink did it job and kept the drive cool. I don't know what the fan is really bringing to the table, other than a bit of noise, as it does not seem to really move air around the unit. I upgraded the cable it came with as I started to see disconnects even when it was sitting on my desk. swapping out drives is a five minute process.

I use a lot of SSD's in my business. Not only for the internal storage in my systems, but as back-up drives, external drives and portable drives. The prices for these SSD components has been steadily dropping and their storage capacities rising. These days it's rare to use a traditional hard drive.I assemble my own and have been for several years. It's easy to do and it gives me control over the quality and the performance. I can make them small and easily portable using 2230's (22mm x 30 mm) or build them into external hubs or just external drives for everyday storage using the larger 2280's.They're very fast and very portable but their downside is that they generate a lot of heat and heat is the #1 enemy of semiconductors. That's what interested me about this drive. More than any other, this case is designed to deal with the heat issue.At the heart of this unit is an assembly which takes heat control to a whole new level. While most external cases allow for a silicone thermal pad and maybe a heat sink, this one has an entire assembly consisting of a silicone thermal pad above and one below the SSD, a metal mounting bracket (I call a sled) below and a serious metal heat sink above to form a sandwich of heat control. This sandwich is then installed into what they call a docking station which is solid metal and also has a fan to exhaust the heat from the unit. I don't like to call it a docking station because there are no other ports like you would expect in a USB-C docking station. I prefer to call it an external drive.The drive performs up to specs and it does seriously control the heat. I think this is a great design for an external drive to use with a desktop computer or gaming setup. However, I don't find this desirable as a portable drive. First, it's comparatively heavy to schlepp around. There are many other units that have adequate heat protection that are much lighter for portable use. But also this design uses the heat sink as the top of the unit and I would be concerned about dust and foreign particles getting into the drive.

The unit worked great the first day. Now the cooling fan spins all the time and is loud. Sounds like a bearing is out on the spindle. I am returning it. And I wasn't getting the 20Mbps speeds it claimed.

I recently ordered the Ineo C2630 docking station to put some unused NVMe drives back to work. As someone who uses multiple computers extensively for work and play, having a fast, reliable & portable storage solution is essential.The C2630 ineo came packaged very well. It included the NVMe external enclosure, heatsink, two thumb screws and an USB-c cable. This is a tool-less design. From unboxing and installing a spare NVMe drive took about 5-10 minutes and that was with reading the instructions. Assembly was really easy.The box says you can get speeds up-to 20Gbps when using USB 3.2, Gen2x2 or UCB 4.0. I would also mention the speed of your drive will also be a factor.There was a heat spread strip that attached to the drive and then the metal heat sink to make a nice sandwich. This is to pull heat away from the drive as they tend to run hot. The instructions are clear as to disassemble the heatsink and reassemble.The drive gets its power from the USB-c cable. I did not have a “c” port on my computer so I used a USB-c on one end to USB-a on the other end. It is also important that you either plug it directly into a port on the computer/laptop or have a powered hub since this does draw a small amount of power to work.Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase of the Ineo C2630 docking station. If you're looking for a reliable and high-performance solution for upgrading your storage capabilities, look no further.
