The picture was misleading. Characters on notepad were blue. At least for me, it's hard to recognize. It also possibly was the battery. The battery is much smaller than the place for it, and, how long it was in the seller's warehouse?

I love this calculator. I like to make lists of everything I do, so I just keep this out on the counter and cross off items as I go. No paper is wasted. It would be great for someone who is a DIY-er and needs to draw things out and do quick math. The notes stay on the pad even when the calculator is closed, until you click the erase button.My only note is that the buttons feel a little bit cheap, they don't have a satisfying "click" when you press them, so you have to really look at the screen to check for typos as you go.

So far so good. It has an auto shut off of the screen on the calculator side that slightly interferes with my purpose. Hence the 4 stars. It works just fine although the pad part could be a smidgen brighter if I'm being picky.

Calculator works well, and the writing pad is nice! It is vibrant enough to be read easily, granted if your penmanship is decent. Overall worth the price!
