A wise and deeply useful book
This book is a powerful tool for helping us create our own inner strength, compassion and understanding. It is beautifully written, gentle, generous and loving. And yet as skillfully accurate as a finely aimed arrow winging past our confusion and touching our own wise hearts to help them awaken

what a lovely book! so helpful for trauma people
This lovely book by Jo-Ann Rosen is a god-send for people living with trauma histories. I've read most of Thich Nhat Hanh's books but they always felt a bit superficial for someone who lives with trauma patterns deep in the bones and memories in the body. From the start of this book, she enters on the practices but within the context of trauma-informed explanations of the 'why' of his approach. It's not just how does this work but why does it work. I love Thay's world but we needed Jo-Ann Rosen to do the amazing work of explain here is why it can work on a traumatized nervous system. A deep bow of respect and gratitude to you, Jo-Ann Rosen, this is a lovely book that will live on my bedstand. I hope this book works for you because it has certainly started to help me settle down inside.
