Outstanding product, well worth the money! First and foremost, read the instructions before trying to use this. Otherwise you would not know, for example, that the drive must be plugged into a USB port on the back of a desktop computer, without any hubs or extensions. I read almost 60 floppies in a row with no problems whatsoever and was able to copy the files I wanted to keep with ease. Highly recommended.

This item worked perfectly for me. I was able to retrieve some pictures from an old floppy. It was wonderful to be able to still have those memories.

This is a pretty much a straightforward device to use. You don't need instructions. You just plug it into your laptop and start using it. I tried to use one of my Android tablets, but it was asking me to format the USB drive. I didn't want to do that; because I wasn't sure what it was going to delete. So I'm just using it for my laptop, and transferring those photos to other devices.With exception of a couple of floppy disks...this read just about everyone I put in the machine. There's a few things that are annoying. One of them is that it kind of reminds me of dial-up. It takes a little time to get started. And it's not the fastest to download something. And you hear a lot of clicking, and grunting noises. But that's because it's a floppy disk. Back then they weren't that silent.But the one thing that adjitates me the most (which is why I didn't give this a five-star review) is... Every time you put in a new disk, you've got to pull the cord out of the USB connection. I actually thought all I had to do is put in another floppy disk, and it would immediately upload the new photos in that disk. But it doesn't. The old photos still stay on the screen. The only way that you can trigger this device to upload a new floppy disk is to pull the USB cord out of the laptop, and then put it back in. I worry that doing this on a regular basis could damage the USB port. With that much movement it could possibly jar the connection loose.But I found nowhere where I could get it to read a new disk without unplugging the cord from the laptop. Sometimes if I wiggle the USB port, it would cause the disks to repopulate themselves. But to do this every single time is a big headache. Hence why it is probably not that expensive to order. I just kept this machine at its most basic level.However... I am grateful that I have some device to download all the material from these floppy disks. I inherited a lot of floppy disks and 35 mm slides after my dad recently passed away. I want to get through everything. It's going to take some time. So it just would be nice if I didn't have to keep pulling out the USB cord every time I put in a new floppy disk.

I am delighted! The disk reader did not used to be filled with so many options! It has been improved over the years and only the need to demonstrate an older FD camera caused me to purchase this new reader! The shipping was quick and sure, and I am happy with my purchase! Will be back!!
