Civil Engineering and the Science of Structures (Engineering in Action)

Speaking as an experienced civil/structural engineer, I found this book to be a good short intro to my field. The best audience seems to be middle school kids, but people older than that may also find the book useful. The main limitation of the book is that it's very short, and it would have been nice for the book to have been written at the same level, but about two or three times as long in order to cover more material. Also, there are a few small errors in the book, but they're small enough that I won't make a big deal of them.
