IT ACTUALLY WORKS!
IT ACTUALLY WORKS!Bought this for my dad after visiting him for a week and nearly being driven crazy by the constantly ringing phone: virtually all from "unavailable" or "suspected spam." My sister reports that they plugged it in and it made an immediate difference. No ringing... Except a call from his doctor's office, which it let through with no problem.

Get the Best
This is the best call blocker on the market in my opinion. It is so comprehensive in ways to block unwanted intrusive callers. This is the third one I have owned. The first one I had to give to my father in law because the poor 90 year man was being harrassed by sales people. The second one I lost in a cross country move. This is the newest model . Won't be with out one. Take control of your phone.

short term of use so far.
Only a few days of using, learning the few control sequences for daily use is worse issue. Using with a two phone line switch, ( LeCall ) my only issue so far is they both use the same keypad code for operating ! Interfered originally, but now I am puzzled, because the Le Call seem to be switching ok ? Worse fault so far is the screem seems to be attracting dust, but now dry cold season. Guessing static electricity to screen ? Overall wish the company just made an extender unit to just read name and number: bought two more for just i.d. use on other extensions. Best pro of this unit, it reads the name and number ! Easy to use once you remember the simple contol.

Panasonic and CPR don’t compare.
Definitely worth the money. Worked right out of the box. Instructions for different programs could be better. Bought a Panasonic and CPR. Both were junk and didn’t work as described.

Bug limits capability
The Digitone 3 will not work well with attached cordless phones due to an apparent bug that blocks ALL caller ID information, for all calls, from reaching the phones after it once detects a blocked call - which is contrary to what the user manual says so it must be a bug. Without the caller ID information; voiced call announcement, recent caller list, voiced call lookup from the speed call list do not work. However, you can connect your cordless phone in parallel to the Digitone 3 instead of plugging it into is phone port. The limitation to this is all blocked calls have to ring once and cannot be silenced completely. The unit has a lot of features that could be useful in battling robo and spam calls. As others have mentioned, the user interface is rough and archaic. One needs to be comfortable with technical features and careful reading of user manuals. I would suggest that prospective customers down-load the user manual and read the details to determine if this thing will work them.

Get rid of a major headache.
We have had the blocker for about a week now and it is great! We were getting 12 or more calls a day and now is has dropped to near zero. When one does get through I just press the "block number" button and they are gone. Some of them use a city name as caller id and i just press the "block name" button. The setup is almost plug an play with little to do bu connect it to the phone line and the phone base. This little black box is a bit pricy but, imo, well worth it.

This device is useless for spam calls

Beyond surprised at how well it works
We keep a legacy landline around for comfort of calls to 911 and during power outages/weather.Lately its been impossible to use, with phones unplugged and off the hook due to dozens to hundred of spam calls a day. The phone would ring constantly from 5am to 10pm. We'd answer the early/late ones at times and tell them to stop but to no avail. They were indignant and rambled on with their sales "pitches"So I decided to give the Digitone a try.BamThe phone is silent.I see the flashing red light and call counter on the screen, but the phone is not ringing! Most of these are "out of area" callsWe've tested approving a few and that works. We've hit block on name and number, but even without doing anything, the onslaught of junk calls has stopped.I compared a number of products on Amazon, but ultimately settled on the Digitone because it didn't offer any kind of announcement/feedback to the callers. The other one I considered was more of a cal screener which answered calls with "press 0 to be whitelisted" , which would not have worked for us - these are not dialer calls, in our case someone is always there and would have heard and pressed 0 and defeated that.Overall, beyond pleased. Worked perfectly for my case.
