Chicken Strip Treats for Dogs. Gotta Consult the Experts
OK...I've never seen a dog that wouldn't make short work of a chicken strip, including these dehydrated jerky treats. This type of treat has always been our dog Sweeny's, favorite. (She's a Bagel. Half basset, half beagle.) I already knew she'd like them. But to adhere to the tenants of science and create an unbiased review, I decided to call in all the experts, those eaters of almost anything, the pros of canine culinary treats, my brother's two dogs, Milo and Yager, to join Sweeny in this critical review. So, I bought two brands, these you're looking at, "HEALTHFULS Chicken Rings," and a comparison brand, "Munchies claws Chewy Chicken Jerky," both available here on Amazon. at about the same price. The Munchies in the 12oz. bag were a little more expensive per ounce, but Healthfuls came in a 32oz. bag, so maybe the greater volume made them a little cheaper per oz. For what it's worth, Munchies contain chicken, glycerin, peanut protein, cassava starch, sorbitol and soy protein. Healthfuls contain, chicken breast, vegetable oil and salt. Munchies have a more orange color while Healthfuls are more red.For our test, we simply gave each of the dogs a Munchie chicken strip and watched to see how long they took to make them disappear. Not long. Sweeny seemed to think it was contest and devoured hers in about 6 seconds. The other two experts lingered over their treat a good 30 seconds or so. They liked it, clearly. So we repeated the experiment with the Healthful treat. The results were about the same. Sweeny still won the time trials, while Milo and Yager savored the moments.Ok, so all the dogs like both treats...but which do they like best. For the next experiment, we took one Munchies and one Healthful treat and set them in front of each dog. All three dogs would sniff one, then the other, then eat the Healthful treat first. Hmmmm... We repeated this experiment and had the exact same results again. All three dogs would eat the Healthful brand first, then the Munchies. So, we seem to have a consensus, but what does it mean? Do they like the Healthful brand best and eat it first or are they just getting it out of the way so they can linger over the Munchies brand? Who can say, but my money is on the Healthfuls. The things we do for pets and science.

My dogs love these treats, great size
My dogs love these chicken ring treats. They often have chicken jerky as a treat. I like that these rings are a little smaller than the normal jerky treats I give them. There is a good amount in the bag and they will last about a month. I also like that these are limited in ingredients with no fillers. These are a bit more expensive than what I normally purchase for the same amount though.

Large quantity & hound approved
This is a really generous bag size (see pic with our hound for scale). They are not overly strong in scent and our hound really appreciated her treats. The meat quality is good and the ingredients really are simple.Pros:1. Large bag2. High quality ingredients3. Very simple—chicken breast, vegetable glycerin and salt are the only ingredients4. Hound approved5. Produced in the USASlight Con: While our dog liked them, they weren’t her first choice in several treat tests. They came in second. She really likes something that she can chew for a longer time, so I will be looking for these in a larger treat size (not bag size, that is very generous already).

Dog likes them
Older herder loved these treats. Took about 2 minutes to disappear. Ingredients appear to be healthy and there was no odor upon opening the bag.If you are used to paying top dollar for your dog treats these are a great treat.

dogs love it, good size
Chicken jerky is my dogs and cats' favorite treat and I love that these come in small size so they are great to give to the dog without having to break them up. The pieces are somewhat chewy so it takes the dogs while to finish. The cats need to have the pieces broken down to bite size so they are finish it fairly quick. This is a huge bag so it's very good value. However, the chicken is made from china and the ingredients include vegetable glycerin and salt. Not sure why it needs to have salt but it's a bit concerning. It would have been a 5 stars product if it were made with only chicken breast.

My picky shih tzu loves them
My puppy goes crazy over these. I thought she was too small for them but she loves them and she eats them safely. 10/10

My dogs love them!
These chicken treats may seem a little pricey, but I honestly think they're a heck of a bargain. There are two pounds of dried chicken breast. That's actually A LOT of boneless chicken, similar to jerky. Also, a little goes a long way. I have older dogs, and these treats are solid protein, so I have to mete the treats out in small increments. My only reservation is the product is processed in China, but the front of the package states that the treats are produced in a facility that is certified to global food safety standards, and the product page says they are lab-tested in the USA. I find that fairly reassuring. And given my dogs have polished off the whole two pounds, I can recommend.

Dogs seem to enjoy
My dog and my foster dog both seem to enjoy these. They both choke on them sometimes though as they try to swallow them whole. I think it's because some of the pieces aren't very big so they don't see the need to chew on them, but instead just swallow. So keep an eye on your dog when they eat these, especially with the smaller pieces, just in case. I also like that these are very low in fat as my dog recently had pancreatitis and can't have high fat food or treats, so these are a great treat for her.
