Does a good job as advertised, and I like the longer USB power cabling...
This was the 4th or 5th attempt to connect a new HP laptop to an older existing Apple Cinema monitor. The monitor expects mini display port. The new laptop offers USB-c and HDMI. the first 3 unsuccessful attempts were from the USB-C to MDP. It turns out there are a LOT of USB-C confit options that relate to firmware and HW. Net is, no success. Direct HDMI to MDP seems to be unicorn territory. This converter takes HDMI to full DisplayPort, then I got a pigtail to take that to MDP. Works well. All the HDMI to DP converters seem to power off USB. I chose this one due to the longer USB cable allowing me to run to a power adaptor on my desk and not occupying a USB on the laptop. Since it’s for a huge monitor, it stays connected on the desk. Not something I’m likely to carry around. The cable cluster is a bit of a mess, but I put in a little cable routing base, and it’s at least out of the way.

Worked great from early May until late September, then stopped working.
I use this to attach my MacBook Pro or my Raspberry Pi's to the DisplayPort on my monitor. It has worked without a hitch from when I got it ... early May ... until late September. Would have given it 5 stars if it continued to work but the failure makes me feel like I was only renting it for $5 a month and the lease ran out.It has a 1 year warranty but Amazon says "contact the seller on their home page". The sellers ... Anbear ... home page offers a "contact us" page but after filling it out I get "There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later." Roughly translated that means "We have your money and you are on your own".Given that the technology is probably the same in all of the HDMI to DisplayPort adapters. Based on the reviews of many of them the failure rate seems to be pretty high. Which of the adapters to choose seems to come down to (a) how long is the USB cord is that provides the power and ... in hindsight .... (b) can you get in touch with the seller when it fails within the warranty period.I need the functionality so I'm going to give the one from Cable Matters a try. It meets (a) and seems to meet (b) but we will see.

Does the job!
I needed this to connect my wacom cintiq 24pro to my pc since the HDMI port for my computer was an older version than required for the cintiq. Works perfectly so far. I'm very happy since I couldn't find this anywhere else. It doesn't give me 4k so if that's what you need, look elsewhere.

Keep it accessible so you can unplug and reconnect.
The adapter work well, when it works. It's only drawback is that the computer won't recognize it automatically. It has to be unplugged and plugged back in every time the computer is shut off or goes to sleep. This is not a big deal for me as the cable is easily accessible on my desk, but I could see how this could be a deal-breaker if your hardware arrangement did not allow for it to be accessed easily. If there is a fix for this minor issue, please let me know.

Works as advertised!
The cable works great!. I have only tested sending a 1080p signal to my monitor along with audio signal and I can confirm that both are working. I definitely recommend this cable to anyone that needs to convert from HDMI to Displayport!

Solid HDMI to DisplayPort converter
Worked great for connecting my laptop to a DisplayPort-only 4K/30hz monitor when passive HDMI -> Displayport adapters and cables did not work.I found that I didn't need the extra USB cable to make the connection work, but your mileage might vary. Glad it's there as an option.

This works!
I had to experiment with 3 other more expensive switches before I decided to try this one out. Low and behold, it worked like a charm!

Perhaps your luck will be better
I liked the longer usb cable as opposed to others. However this product did not work for me. I was trying to tie a Tivo Mini into a displayport KVM. I received nothing but a blank screen. Order two other like items that did seem to work (with and without usb power). Maybe I just got a bad one as others have reported success. Returning as I have already solved my issue without this item.
