This is essentially an alternative to the pale blue Cisco serial cable. It's nice and long with a flexible cable and works perfectly with the kit I've used it on. Definitely not going to teach anyone to suck eggs but you need need a 9 pin RS232 serial port to connect this to on your computer so I'm using a USB to Serial adapter which works perfectly.
