Very easy to install and setup.
My old weather station had started to play up a bit - the rain gauge was very inaccurate after 10 years of use. So I took the opportunity to have the Youshiko as a birthday present from my wife. Once ordered it arrived very quickly (2 days ahead of schedule). It took no time at all to install and was fully operational within 30 minutes. The display is very clear and provides a fairly comprehensive display of the weather characteristics. The product description on Amazon is very accurate. My old weather station had the facility to download data and I used to do this but never really used the data to any great extent. When Windows was significantly updated the software would no longer work so I abandoned the downloading. I considered getting a weather station where I could capture the data but I suspected that I would tire of it.I have had the weather station for just over 2 weeks and I am quite delighted with it. But I do have a couple of grumbles. Firstly, when using the History button the past data only stays on the screen for about 5-6 seconds before returning to the current data. Therefore you have to cycle through the past day's data quite quickly otherwise you have to start from the beginning. The same is true of the max/min button and data. This data is date and time stamped but I don't know how long the data stays on the device. I hope it stays for at least a year. The rainfall button give access to hourly, daily, weekly and monthly totals. A cumulative display for a longer period (year) is not provided so one needs to make a note of each month's total to work out the annual rainfall. However, these are minor gripes and this model represents excellent value for money.April 2020 UpdateThe recent spell of good, sunny weather has exposed a flaw with the WS. The temperature sensor is not sufficiently shielded from the heating effects of direct sunlight. My old weather station had a separate temperature sensor which is still working well but it is in permanent shade and during the day I have observed outside temperature variances of up to 3.5 degrees C. In cloudy conditions the differences between the two sensors is very small.

Excellent Value for money!
I have had a number of weather stations over the years and so far I think this is the best! The outdoor sensor array can be mounted in a number of ways. to a post, to a pole or to a flat surface. I personally like to mount mine to a well seasoned post soaked in hot wax. As I find pole mounting courses erroneous readings to both wind and rain. The base mount has a foot of 5"x3" so you may need to add a plate to the top of the post. this will enable the array to be turned to a northerly direction for wind calibration before locking into place with a bracket and screw. (See picture)The array can be removed off the array foot for battery replacing and maintenance, without recalibrating the northerly setting each time Via a small nut and bolt (supplied)The array sensor (rain, wind speed, direction and outdoor temperature. has a very good strong transmitting signal and a signal meter on the main console so you can clearly see if you need to re-site the sensor. pairing the array is also easy, once batteries are in stalled on both units simply press and hold scan on the main console and press reset on the sensor. Job done. All readings are very clear and well spaced so not over cluttered. All parameters are not on the screen together. But are easy accessible at the touch of a button. The only things I find a small drawback is there is only indoor dew point and not outdoor dewpoint. I like to have outdoor dew point for fog prediction. Also accessing min/max data can be a little long winded as you have to go through a list of parameters before you get to the one you wish to view. I haven't as yet used all the functions on the station as the weather has dried up for a change!!All in all I would say this station is certainly value for money and I would definitely buy another in the future. Hopefully with a few minor changes. to the system.

Neat piece of kit.
Very stylish, works very well with very clear and simple read outs and a futuristic, minimalistic design of the outside unit. It works well screwed to the top of a square section post but the design of the battery compartment means there is a real risk of parts being lost as one struggles with tiny screws, separate battery cover, loose batteries, screwdriver, etc while at the top of a ladder. It would be perfect if this was resolved and some way provided of tuning the wind direction indicator to accept North regardless of the orientation of the structure the unit is fixed to.

Superb weather station
Monted on a tv aerial mast so pointing to north was easy (with the aid of a compass!) seems very accurate and the amount of information displayed is impressive. Was bought to to replace an Oregon Scientific weather station because the anemometer (wind gauge) had packed up. This is much easier to set up and use. Very good quality and seems well made.

Good value and intersting
For some interesting fun this is a perfect gift for someone who is interested in the environment around them. I would say the wind gauge is not at all accurate hence the 4 star rating as I can tell when the wind is more than 4mph just by sticking my head out the window but the station doesn't seem to register anything higher. Temperature and air pressure seem to be totally spot on compared to official figures published on the web for where we live. I've stopped checking now due to the accuracy. Simple to install. Just buy a steel pole off ebay for a few quid and attach it to one of your fence posts. Has the neighbours wondering which is funny!! Overall very pleased. Screen clear, loads of info, memories for the past 24 hours on all aspects with min and max options that can all be individually reset if there is something particular you wish to review. Nice good value peice of kit. How much "weather" the outdoor sensor can take and for how long remains to be seen.
