A bit more grown up than I expected but a great learning too and the calendar was beautifully made
I wanted to teach the real meaning of Christmas to my 4 year old. She asked for the next door every day without fail, and memorised the whole story as we went along. She now knows about Caesar Augustus, decrees, the tax system and many of the relevant place names. A bit more grown up than I expected but a great learning too and the calendar was beautifully made. My only negative would be that the story went a bit slow.

Beautiful
Absolutely gorgeous, telling the tale of the Nativity as each window is opened. Cute paintings, the characters dressed in old, traditional German costumes. The windows are opened one after the other rather than randomly so there is no hunt for the next number, but still a beautiful Advent calendar to accompany us to Christmas Eve.

An update of previous review
This calendar is beautiful, would recommend for another year. Tells the story of Christmas behind each window, along with lovely traditional biblical pictures...... A true advent calendar! Only glitch was the time it took to arrive, but next time I will order at the beginning of November, packing was also very substantial . The delay could have been Royal Mail, as they seem to be all over the shop.

Helps young children understand the birth of Christ
This activity calendar was perfect for my 5 year daughter. It helped her understand the story of the birth of Christ in easy to digest snippets. Each day told a part of the story which we usually read from day 1 to the current day each time we opened up another window. The pictures were beautiful too. My only negative comment is that the calendar was a bit flimsy, although the windows were strong enough.

My summary
Not only did I think it was beautiful, I have had feedback from my grandchildren and my grand nieces and nephews that they love it! My son says it is particularly magical with a light or candle behind it. However, my one regret is that I omitted to send to my eldest granddaughter, 15, whom I thought would feel she is too old to receive an Advent Calendar! It has been a tradition from me every year. Would it be possible for me to order 1 more please?

Nice, large advent calendar with decent sized doors easy to open. Inside good little pictures and verse on the door easy for children to read and follow the advent story.

Lunell Nativity Advent Calendar
This was a really lovely calendar. The Christmas Story is told in an engaging way that is easy for children to follow and read. Both the main picutre and the illustrations are lovely to look at and the size of the boxes, larger than a normal advent calendar, just works really well. My daughter who is seven loved this calendar.
