I didn't know I needed a soft and thick double handled leash until I bought a soft and thick double handled leash. In fact, I bought two of them, one each for my two labs.I was looking for a leash to attach to their harness. I often let them run off leash with their harness on, but wanted to buy new leashes as their basic old ones were getting frayed and dirty and just seemed due for replacement. I found myself spending a lot of time looking at leashes on Amazon. I really hadn't ever considered all the styles and possibilities!I saw these and some similar ones, and decided I liked the idea of a double handle for the added control as needed. The thick padded handles didn't mean anything to me at the time. The reflective aspect of the ones I chose was a bonus as I typically do our public walking during day time, but remembered sometimes we are out for a walk at dusk (all other times is in our big yard in the country). I liked that it was a 6ft leash without being made for tiny dogs (often evidenced by narrow strap). I have 2 big labs and I prefer the wider strap. I loved the bright colors and since they matched the color of the harnesses I have for them best, it was my deciding factor.Now I am here to tell you that the padded handle is oddly rather wonderful. It doesn't cut into the hand, it offers added stability and control and it is simply comfortable. The clasp is sturdy, the extra handle has been well utilized already and works to keep dogs closer to me as needed. The little loop to hook keys, poop bags, or whatever is a little detail that adds functionality that I hadn't thought I needed or cared for before. What was just a leash to me, is now also an adornment with added comfort and functionality. I have only been using these for a couple of weeks, but so far they are holding up. I will absolutely amend my review if there are any problems in the near future after further use.As always, don't let your dog chew on it. No leash is going to be indestructible to a determined chewer.

I've had this leash for nearly 3 years now and it just popped into my head that I never gave it the positive review it deserves. I originally bought it simply because I couldn't find any other leashes in this shade of green at the time and I wanted one to match my dog's collar, but it quickly became my favorite leash to use (and I've tried plenty). My dog is a 70lb bully mix and we've put this thing through the wringer. It's gotten nearly daily use, multiple times a day, since I bought it. The padded handles are something I never thought I needed but now can't go without and the second handle is incredibly useful for keeping him close by when necessary. My dog is a puller when he's a mind for it and this leash has held up all these years with no rips or tears. I even got one of these as a gift for my dad to use with his 90lb Doberman and it's the only leash he'll use now. Really it's just a great leash- very comfortable and clearly quite durable. Also, I have a hard time finding dog supplies in darker green, so I appreciate that it's an option here. My dog is incredibly handsome in hunter green.

Well made product. Sturdy, easy to use. I would say hand loop is very comfortable and helps to control my 80 lb German Shepherd. Love this leash and is the best I have ever owned. The price was okay too.

I’ve had a few of these leashes since 2017 and they’re still going strong. If I don’t notice a car coming up on us in time to get my 80 lb pittie into a sit, he can get overly excited and lunge toward the car. Having the extra handle close to the collar has been a literal life saver, giving me the chance to quickly pull my pittie close to me and away from approaching cars (no sidewalk in our neighborhood). I’d definitely recommend these leashes. I’m back for another one to match the color of a new harness.

This will now be my go-to leash for my pupper. After a week long vacation for my dog at his favorite boarding facility, we came to pick him up only to find that his previous leash had been halfway chewed through by his doggie BFF. At first I was kind of upset, especially since his old leash was a well known name brand that cost me quite a bit. Once I got home I went online to Amazon to find a replacement. I saw this, which was very similar to our previous leash in that it had the traffic control short leash handle towards the other end. Once I received it, I was initially concerned about the quality because the nylon seemed thin. I leashed up my dog who is a notorious puller, and we went for a test walk. I like that the leash is slightly longer than quite a few other leashes you will find at the pet store or big box market. The extra padding on both handles is also great, especially if you have an overexcited puller like my fur monster. The leash so far seems solid and high quality. We've had it for about 5 months now and have used it for a 30 minute walk every day since (except for the handful of rainy days where we chose to stay inside instead.) The leash is holding up great! My dog isn't a chewer, but he is a leash tugger. No idea how well this would hold up to a dog who is constantly chewing and gnawing on things, but for our purposes this is great. The overall value is great, however so far it doesn't look like I will need to order a replacement anytime soon.

Very good leash for the money, especially compared to pet store prices. Construction, material quality and especially the neoprene handle linings are great, very nice overall and comfortable to use for extended walks. The reflective piping works well and the material is nice and thick with clean edges that are smooth and well finished. For me the only minus is that the "traffic" lead is about 2" short for my taste. I walk a 65 pound 6 month old golden retriever with it and he stands about 22' at the shoulder. I am about 6 feet tall so for shorter folks this may not be an issue. I find that keeping him at close position is a little uncomfortable while walking as I feel that I have to stretch my arm towards him to keep from putting too much pressure on his collar. If I had a smaller dog I don't think the traffic handle would be usable at all. But for the length of the traffic lead this is a FIVE star purchase for me.
