Brilliant short book for Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles to be!
Great book for grandparents and Aunts and Uncles to be! Not too big or intimidating. Read it in about 2 hours. Useful points to consider. Explained the basics and how they can help and be involved. My mother-in law liked it so much she kept her own copy and highlighted particular parts she wanted to remember. It's great to know when beginning your adoption journey that extended family support you and know a bit about the journey your about to embark on!

Helpful short book especially for grandparents
My husband and I are in the adoption assessment process, and struggling a bit with explaining everything to family and friends. We’ve heard that particularly our parents have lots of questions, since adoption is a new adventure for our family. We were recommended this book by some friends who are grandparents through adoption, so bought it ourselves. It’s just a short book, but really helpfully covers the topic of adoption really well. It often speaks directly to grandparents about what it’s like and how they can help, which are some of the things our parents have been wondering. It does sometimes mention other relations (ie aunts/uncles/cousins). It contains lots of quotes and anecdotes which make it an enjoyable read. We’ve now bought copies for both sets of parents!

Useful but expensive for what it is
More of a pamphlet than a book. I thought is was expensive. The information is useful and definitely sets you thinking but it doesn't exactly mirror my adult child's path along the adoption process. It focuses on some issues with adopting older children and very little with adopting babies or toddlers. Read it as soon as you know that adoption is being seriously considered. Don't wait until your child is through Stages 1 and 2.

Great "we're adopting!" announcement gift!
Loved this little book! It gives a great insight into the current adoption process in the UK. It is a good read for potential adoptive parents and other family members. We used it as a gift to announce we were adopting!

Useful but too light touch for actively involved family and friends.
This felt a little light touch. I would not say this is for close family and friends who will be supporting the child and family regularly, it's more for those not playing a hugely active part in the child's life. Useful but as I say light touch in terms of content.

Great books, I got 2 for our parents to read. Easy to read books and they came ahead of the proposed delivery date so was really pleased.
