At last! A serious book about having FUN!
Far too often we believe that we need 'permission' to take a break from our 'serious' lives and have fun! This excellent book shows us why having fun is as essential to our well being as keeping physically fit.

Interesting and eye opening but repetitive at times
I found the book to be interesting and eye opening, it helped me realised how much playfulness I have lost in my adult life and provide an optimistic view on how to add more fun and be more playful. The main downside is the repetitive aspect of the book and the intensive use of the 'True Fun' expression throughout the book. Half way through the book, it becomes hard to read due to the writing. But the overall idea and concept is interesting.

Too much True Fun is not fun!
I wanted to like this book, but found it difficult to engage with, because of the blizzard of references to True Fun. It seems that having created a definition of True Fun the author took that as licence to use it repeatedly and you rarely go more than a paragraph before it pops up again. It became so irritating I struggled to finish the book. That’s a shame as there were some positive ideas in the book, but the over use of the phrase True Fun created a real barrier for me and prevented me reading the book in a natural way. Others may not find it so grating and there are good ideas here, but for me it spoiled the experience.

I feel like this book is going to make my life a LOT better!
This book is so light and easy to read, yet contains many things that make you think, things you already know but forgot you knew. I can't wait to start putting it all into action. Fabulous book. Just read it!

One star as I can’t give none
Literally drained the life out of me ……managed first thirty pages, repetitive, dull and nothing about it, even skim reading, to try and learn something about HOW to have fun ……nothing genuinely feel angry I paid money for this

Everyone should read this
I've long been fascinated with fun, what we find fun and why as humans, and this book answers much of that in a very clear, humorous, thorough and excellent way. I really enjoyed it.

More of the Right Fun
If you're wondering why you don't have more fun in your life and you want more of it, this book will get you in the right direction. The author clarifies how many of us choose "fake" fun over true fun and gives us specific characteristics to look for that will improve our overall quality and quantity of fun. This book helped me realize that even as an introvert, I am more likely to have true fun with at least one other person around and helped me identify the fun magnets specific to me so that I can seek out and plan for true fun more easily.

Inspiring and thought-provoking
For me, this book is more about joy than fun. The author made many excellent points. I did not agree with everything she wrote, but overall, this book was very inspiring and life changing. It is most definitely with the read.

Good Ideas in Chapters 6 through 10
I skimmed over Chapters 1 through 5. As others have said, everything could have been condensed into one chapter. They were not fun reading. Chapters 6 through 10 were really interesting and provided a lot of ideas for how to make sure we do not only things that we have to do in our everyday lives, but things that we really enjoy doing. Most of my friends are addicted to social media, Facebook, and texting and it's been hard to get them to get out there and do fun things. As someone who has worked in programming and high-tech, I don't use any social media myself and it saddens me to see people with their noses in their phones and not really participating in real life. The author's definition of fun though is one I don't agree with. She seems to be overthinking and over-analyzing what fun is. True Fun and Fake Fun and things she doesn't really feel are fun are just too much to swallow. Overall I enjoyed the book and felt it was worthwhile reading.
