Excellent build and easy to install
Bought this for my studio to mount a rack hardware unit under my desk and it works perfectly! Sturdy build, easy to screw into the bottom of my desk, looks great, and could be used for just about any rack mount use you could think of - nice to have that versatility!

Surprisingly strong!
Strong and sturdy!Me and my team had doubts about this being able to hold up the stated weight… but it currently holds up my 3KVA online UPS (~60lbs). Keeps it off the floor and neatly on the wall.

Rack works well for rack mounted power conditioner/supply
Used this to mount my Tripplite power supply for my studio desk. Works for what I needed it for and it’s just that, has the square holes so you’ll need to get rack clips and matching rack bolts to mount your hardware. The Tripplite is not deep in the rack so a horizontal mounting has worked fine.

Perfect for vertical wall mounting rack gear
I used this to install a 1U switch and really heavy 1U battery backup in my coat closet which is where all of my house cable / voice / ethernet is terminated in a metal wiring box. The wiring box is too small to install any actual hardware so this is wall mounted below the box, the wiring is then pulled out of the wiring box and connected to my rack mounted network hardware. Works perfect, is very secure when mounted to studs even with my super heavy battery backup installed. Only real negative is that it uses annoying snap-in threaded rack nuts. I have experience with SKB rack cases which use snap nuts, but those snap around the entire rack and never fall out (in fact they're a PITA to remove). These just use two tiny flanges that snap into the rack holes. They kept popping out when I tried to pop in an adjacent nut. It was super annoying. Thus I ended up wall mounting it in the same vertical orientation as in the product photo so the rack gear's weight was pushed down the the snap-in nuts. I wish they used the SKB style snap nuts, or simply threaded the rack rails directly. I'm not sure how robust the nuts would be in a horizontal orientation.

Excellent for Tight Spaces When You Want to Use Traditional Network Cabinet Equipment
I had limited space in the utility closet in my old house. Going vertical rather than horizontal allowed me to use traditional network cabinet gear without taking up so much horizontal space. I used the following components with the rack and they worked great:Monoprice Keystone Jack Panel, 24 portsCable Matters® 25-Pack Cat6 RJ45 Keystone Jack in White and Keystone Punch-Down StandLeviton 41106-RW6 Voice Grade QuickPort Connector, WhiteTP-LINK TL-SG1016 10/100/1000Mbps 16-Port Gigabit 17.3-inch Rackmountable Switch, 32Gbps CapacityCyberPower PR500LCDRT1U Smart App Sinewave UPS 500VA 400W SNMP/HTTP 1U Rack/TowerNavePoint Cantilever Server Shelf Vented Shelves Rack Mount 19" 1U Black 8" (210mm) deepGearIt 10 Pack, Cat 6 Ethernet Cable Cat6 Snagless Patch 1.5 Feet - BlackPros:- Solidly built. Once the 4 wood screws are installed on the sides, there's little to no flex.- Mounts on standard 16-inch on center wall studs. Note: The rack is 19 3/4 inches wide from outer edge to outer edge.- Nice, slightly textured paint.- Comes with hardware mounting bolts and captive nuts. The bolts have plastic washers so that they don't scratch the rack paint.- I attached the NavePoint shelf to the studs above the rack to hold my modem and routerCons:- Because all of the ethernet and RG6 cables hang down below the rack, I had to be careful about strain relief, especially where I coiled up extra cable below the rack. The Cable Matters® Cat6 RJ45 Keystone Jacks don't have a zip tie strain relief slot, so the weight of the cables hangs on the punched down wires. Next time, I'll use Monoprice Cat6 Punch Down Keystone Jacks (105384) because they have the zip tie slots.

Mount is good
Used this to verically mount a 2U UPS. I did add some rubber strips at the bottom where it meets the wall. The mounting hardware it comes with is a bit weak, so I drilled the 16" holes a little bigger and used 1/4" x 2" lag bolts into studs

Lifesaver 2U Mount!
I needed to add a quality CD player to my home studio for playback of my CD collection. Real estate is very limited on my desktop for space so I determined I needed to do an under countertop mount. I looked at a number of 2U rack under mounts, but none of them could support the 9 pound weight of the new CD player. I came across the StarTech 2U mount and it had plenty of strength. Super easy to mount. Lifesaver solution! Highly recommended.
