Twelve Slays of Christmas Slayed
This book is a wonderful start to Jacqueline Frost’s Christmas Tree Farm Mystery series. When Holly White gets dumped by her fiancé two weeks before their wedding, she packs up her meager belongings and heads home to Mistletoe, Maine. With the holiday season in full swing, Holly offers to help out at her family’s tree farm.Tragedy strikes when the president of the Mistletoe Historical Society is murdered on their property. Margaret Fenwick was a grump known for pressuring businesses to stick to stringent historical guidelines for the town or else, but did it make someone mad enough to kill? This was a fast-paced and well written mystery with plenty of holiday cheer and a bit of romance. I loved the cold, snowy, cozy atmosphere of the book. Mistletoe felt like a real place. I enjoyed trying to fit all the pieces of the mystery into place. I was very shocked to discover the culprit, but it made total sense. Looking forward to continuing this series.

Excellent book
I absolutely loved this book! It was laugh out loud funny at times and serious in others; it left me in tears at the end. I want to move to Mistletoe, Maine! I want to play all the games at Reindeer Games, eat all the sweets and drink gallons of home made hot chocolate. The descriptions of the food and the reactions of the various characters to the food had my mouth watering. Holly was great and Sheriff Gray was very patient but firm with her. I don't want to give anything away as far as the plot is concerned so buy the book and plan on enjoying every one of the well written characters. I could see in my mind how much fun the games were and having grown up in a small city that saved all of its old buildings in the downtown area, as well as the stately old homes on the main road in town, I could relate to many things that were said - the deputy had lived in town for 6yrs and was still considered an "outsider". Anyway buy the book and prepare to sit back and enjoy.

Fun and quirky!
Holly White returned home to Mistletoe, Maine after being dumped a week before her wedding by her loser fiancé. Reindeer Games, the family Christmas tree farm, soothed her broken heart and with the lead up to Christmas and all the usual activities, Holly didn’t have time to feel sad. That was until President of the Mistletoe Historical Society, Margaret Fenwick was killed and left in the sleigh. Sheriff Evan Grey was immediately on the scene, and with Holly attempting to find the killer, and being threatened herself, it seemed there was a killer in Mistletoe who wasn’t afraid to stop and nothing to avoid capture.Twelve Slays of Christmas is the 1st in the Christmas Tree Farm Mystery series by Jacqueline Frost and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I’ve read #2 and #3 so knew I needed to read the first story. Plenty of Christmas festivities, this one was fun and quirky with clues, hints and twisty innuendos to keep me on my toes! I’m looking forward to #4 now 😊 Recommended.

A lovely Christmas story
Good book! Maybe a little far fetched that the main character and her family's lives are threatened and she still couldn't stop running her mouth! 🤔

There is nothing like a wonderful Christmas romance
I loved this story! The book is well written with great characters, an easily followed plot, and a slowly developing romance. A story to surprise a laugh out of the reader and brings tears to the reader's eyes with the much needed warmth of family and close dear friends. I highly recommend this book.

Okay
This book was a little difficult to keep reading. I had to make myself finish it. I can't see myself reading another book by this author in the near future.

Great Spoiler alert
Finally a book where the heroine shows her trauma at finding a dead body. Omg, can we have a book where the heroine doesn't invite the killer in!Fast paced and I enjoyed every minute.

A wonderfully cozy and festive mystery
Nothing gets me feeling more festive than… murder? As November rapidly comes to an end, I felt a hankering to indulge myself in a Christmas cozy. So, after asking for recommendations in a Facebook group, I decided to check out Twelve Slays of Christmas; the first instalment in The Christmas Tree Farm Mystery series by Jacqueline Frost. I did not regret this choice. Now, make no error, his mystery is not deep. In fact, there are many aspects of the story that are either cheesy, too cutesy, or just straight-up unrealistic. However, with a cup of cocoa and a pair of warm jammies, I found Twelve Slays of Christmas to be just the book I needed to get into the Holiday spirit. The descriptions of Mistletoe Maine, Particularly the Reindeer Games Tree Farm, made such a perfect setting for this novel. I could imagine the delight of being there in person.Furthermore, the cast of characters that we meet through the course of the mystery were all quaint and charming (except for … you know … the killer).Overall, I really enjoyed this cozy mystery. I hope that the author decides to continue this series as I would love to hear more about Mistletoe and its residents.

I absolutely enjoyed this book from start to finish
I absolutely enjoyed this book from start to finish. I had never read this author before and wish she was a full time cozy author. I would definitely buy her books. I'm not a big Christmas person but this book made me feel very Christmasy through the characters and the vivid descriptions. I think it's the perfect book to read with the Christmas season coming.
