Nifty Screen Exactly as Advirtised

As others have noted, you have to build the driver to get it to work. This is somewhat challenging, although I started with a fresh rPi OS install (full, not lite, as to include all the random python bits, etc) and was able to do it in a few hours of tinkering. Be sure to enable the backlight control. I would also ensure VNC and move the mouse to see if it's working properly. If it's not quite rendering properly be careful of leaving it in a "frozen" state otherwise you risk burn-in.This worked for me as a starting point (you'll know what I mean when you get that far) with a pi 3:cmake -DSPI_BUS_CLOCK_DIVISOR=20 -DWAVESHARE_ST7789VW_HAT=ON -DBACKLIGHT_CONTROL=ON -DUSE_DMA_TRANSFERS=OFF -DSTATISTICS=0 ..Waveshare (manufacturer) had a pretty succinct guide to get the display running on their website, and the buttons to work. The analog stick works like a mouse, and buttons 1 + 2 like left and right click. Just don't expect to be able to run the python script for this via SSH (this is explained in the guide on their page).

Official Documentation is Terrible

Ignore the official docs and google the product name and github. You can find some actual code that will make this work great. Well worth the price.

Little screen

Its a little screen you can barely see if you have good eyes but its not because of the quality, just the size. I had Mario brothers on here and its playable and sharp resolution. Just super dooper tiny. More of a novelty but it was a pretty cool one. I love blowing peoples mind with a tiny game system. Its not really playable but its a great conversation piece. Would definitely purchase again but for the novelty. Not the utility. I gave it 5 stars because it does exactly what it says it does. Just don't be fooled that you will be using this as your main screen. Its a great conversation piece though and worth it just for that.

Very nice, just use a magnifying glass! 😂

Way to assemble? Sure. Not so easy to get working, but so satisfying when you do. I recommend getting it going on raspbian, unless you know what you are doing. Also reach out to the community, they are happy to help.

Great little hat for the money

This is a great little screen. Was able to get it up and running within about hour of tinkering. I'm using this with a Raspberry PI Zero WCouple minor nits* Offset pegs that come with the kit are a bit short vs standard pin kits.* The center of the screen sits right above the CPU Heatsink, When the CPU gets hot it causes the screen to get "bright"
