Purchased to fit in a bedside drawer. Can be opened with either biometrics (finger/thumb print), combination/pin code, or mechanical key. First off, this is advertised on the product listing as being sized to hold three pistols. There is no way this is true unless you stack the pistols on top of each other or do not store a spare magazine in the safe (I only have a small Glock 19 and a spare 10 rd mag in the safe to allow space for them to be easily retrieved under pressure without moving stuff around, especially when the room is dark). There optimistically might be room for two pistols at most while maintaining easy access.When using biometrics, the safe opens very quickly and the cover pops fully open for quick access. A built in light also lights the interior of the safe (it is on a timer and automatically extinguishes after a while if left on) to easily find and access the contents. The heavy metal case can be screwed down to a base (drawer or other piece of furniture) or can be secured with the included cable.Manufacturer claims DOJ approval (important in some states such as CA) but I was not able to find this specific model # on the CA gun safe approval list). A nice feature of this safe is that you can choose to mute any pin code sounds (if more silent access is desired) and more importantly, you can program in several different biometric fingerprints to not only accommodate more than one family member, but also to program several different fingers for each member to insure that this feature will work when needed under “pressure”. I checked the accuracy of this feature by having several non-authorized users see if they could open the safe with their fingers and the safe accurately only allowed authorized users to open the safe.The only negative for the safe in my use case is the safe interior is not fully padded on all sides (just the lid and base are padded) possibly to maximize interior space available, but probably just to cut down on price 😝. Additionally, the adhesive holding the dense foam padding on the lid interior did not hold the foam padding in place (it would fall out of place after each opening) but this was easily remedied by using some double sided tape to hold it in place). Also, the lack of padding on the perimeter walls of the safe was easily remedied by just adding my own dense foam padding although it would have been nice if it already came fully padded. So, in summary, safe works very well, is responsive, has some very nice features, but could be easily improved by just a little more attention to details, and product description may be somewhat misleading regarding pistol capacity,so 4 stars instead of 5.

So far so good. Easy set up. Finger print reader is a little bit tricky. Doesn't always work with all programmed digits. But for some reason my right thumb works great 99% of the time. For the price it's a great safe. Perfect for keeping the grandkids away from our guns.

Biometrics do not work properly.I always spend time reading the manuals and getting things right.The product only allows a total of four fingerprints, so after setting two prints for me and two for my wife, this is what is happening.NOT REGISTERED FINGERPRINTS1. The box would unlock with ANY fingerprint, we set up only index fingerprints, but it is unlocking with any of the other fingers. And this happens randomly. It will sometimes unlock and sometimes won't, but all of these tests were done with fingers that were not registered in the set up.REGISTERED FINGERPRINTS2. It will not open with the registered fingerprints and after 4 tries with all of our registered fingerprints, it locked us out completely.3. As you can see in the video, you would be lucky if it unlocks for you in an emergency situation, but it is likely that it may take you several tries to unlock it, and if that happens, the box will lock itself out and lock you out, the only option after that is getting the key and unlocking it that way. Good luck if you're retrieving your gun in a life or death situation.4. With the registered fingerprints, sometimes it will light up green and you can hear the lock moving to unlock and open, but the door will actually not unlock and open.The best I can describe it is, that it seems to be jammed, even though it acts like it wants to open.4. You can see in the video that the foam on the door will not stay in position. The door has glue on it, but the foam just falls off. Not a huge deal but it's just poor quality work.5. The box does have an option to unlock by pressing a code using the buttons, but now I cannot trust this product to work as it should, especially when it matters most.I have little kids and knowing that this box randomly unlocks with any prints completely defeats one of the major purposes of a gun safe.This is complete trash, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, DO NOT RISK YOUR LIFE, DO NOT PUT YOUR FAMILY IN DANGER.I can't return it because the time window passed.I wouldn't give this away either, I don't want to be responsible for this dangerous "gun safe"

The media could not be loaded. If you have a gun , you need to keep it safe ! This is perfect for any occasion weather you have kids or not . No one could get into this except the people you allow to , it opens up fast for my finger print , it memorizes more than one finger print if you want it to and also has a back up code you can enter if needed for any reason as well as a key so you have 3 options to get in . It lights up inside so you can see it in the dark . I keep it right next to my bed in case I ever need it . I’ve got 3 kids and I needed to make sure they can’t get in it so I had other people try an get in an use their finger print and it does not work for them , only mine . It looks very nice to and heavy duty. Great price nothing can beat protecting yourself a the people around you by having one but also by keeping it put away .
