Frustrating and won't work with iPhone 4 or 5s
I was really hoping to get a neat little pedometer for my kids. Decided to ignor the reviews and hope for the best. I wish I never bothered to purchase. I could not sync it to an iPhone 4. Even having trouble syncing to the iPhone 5s. After time and time again, I finally synced it to the 5s but then the app and the ibitz needed an update. App updated fine but I can't get the ibitz updated now. Even though it was only $4ish dollars, it wasn't worth the trouble I'm probably going to have returning it. It's just awfully frustrating and not worth the trouble.

which is annoying but not a big deal
I bought these for my kids (9, 11, & 13) and for the price, I can't complain. Two have needed battery replacements already (within the first two weeks) but the steps seem accurate. I need to log in and back out to check each child's steps, which is annoying but not a big deal. You can't view previous day's steps if you fail to log in before midnight. Once a week you do receive a progress email with each day's steps though so you can see them after the fact.

so easy for my 8 yr old to log in & ...
Initially we had some server shutdowns, emailed the help desk, they answered quickly & were very helpful! Set up the ibitz & app quickly, so easy for my 8 yr old to log in & use. Parents can set goals & prizes for their kids. Much, much cheaper than the fitbit, etc. I think itʻs good enough for kids, thinking about getting the adult one.

These have been a total disappointment. They have not been able to use them ...
I ordered two of these for my nephews. I never was able to get them to link to their iPad Bluetooth. I created accounts for both boys and tried again on my iPad. Still would not connect. These have been a total disappointment. They have not been able to use them at all. Another issue is the fact that they can't use them just as pedometers. They have to be linked to a Apple device to work and don't even count steps without it. Would not recommend.

Love it!
i read a NY Times article about how we track our steps and all kinds of details, but not our kids. I was excited to find this device and the price was perfect. It is not perfect, but it works well and my kids like the app. In addition I got my first e-mail update with my kids weekly summary and it was great. Here are some challenges that I have had/opportunities:One of the two devices that I ordered arrived with a dead battery. It acted differently than the directions and was mostly frustrating to set up until I replaced the battery. (Luckily not came with an extra battery - that was awesome)I had trouble with the app and the passwords. I also had trouble with the parent password. Once I got it all set up (each kid is linked to a different iPhone and different e-mail address), it seemed to work great.I think one may be more sensitive than the other in terms of steps. I don't think my older son really gets that many more steps than his brother, but they are usually no place close to each other. Not sure howong it will last, but it stays on strong and my kids will probably misplace them before they stop working. My kids love the app. The more steps they take the further out their space ship will go. For the first time, today my son got way more steps on his ibit than I got on my garmin.

NEVER worked properly
This was not what it was promised to be. Mt granddaughter used it one day and it failed... the company replaced it stating we may have had a faulty device. The second one also was used one day and it too failed. Would not connect with the app, we were told to replace the battery. This was completed and it worked for one day. If the battery needs replacing on a daily basis it is surely not worth the price.

does the basics
I purchased this as my first fitness trackerit only tracks the steps I take nothing elsevery basicI don't take the time to sit there and look at all the achievement badgesthe nice thing about this is I can tell if my kids have walked the dog when I'm not home!I just have to sync the tracker to my phone once I get home.A little difficult for them to say they walked the dog for a mile or more if the steps are not a certain number

Helps get the kids off the couch!
My son found this while deciding what to spend his Amazon gift card on. I was reluctant because of the less than stellar reviews but allowed him to make the decision as it was his to spend. I am very happy I didn't interfere as he loves it. I am not sure it is the most accurate device on the plant but for the price it is an amazing motivational piece of equipment. In the age of computers, tablets, phones, television and video games anything that encourages kids to move around is wonderful in my book. He loves getting "steps" and seeing how many certain activities will get him. Both of his siblings have since ordered one and I pleased they have.
