Not for me
Seems like lots of people enjoyed it, but just wasn’t for me. I don’t mind the swearing, but the content of the writing was much like a blog/rambling, which maybe you’re into but I wasn’t prepared for that. I actually stopped reading after the first chapter, skimmed through the rest of the book to see if it would change, but no, so I gave it away. I give it a three stars cuz I feel like this book can go either way, you’ll either love it or hate it. I didn’t find it funny at all, I found the author really telling us what we should think is funny or bizarre, but it just ended up being annoying. Some of the things she says are kind of inappropriate, I guess some ppl can get past that but I just was bored at it’s lack of effort and thought. Putting this book in the community library, hopefully someone else will enjoy.

I got what I asked for
The book is a gift, so it's currently wrapped... thus I can't look at it thoroughly to review it for you. But it came quickly, and in the condition I expected. It looked like I could have just taken it off my bookshelf- read and loved carefully. Jenny Lawson is one of my favorite authors (and people!) and her hilarious anecdotes not only entertain but are hopeful messages for enduring life's difficulties.

Laugh till you have abs kind of funny
Absolutely by far and away the funniest book I have ever read. Laugh out loud clenching your stomach in agony kind of funny. I've probably read it six times when I have been really down and needed a little laughter. It is disjointed and immature and full of curses. It is also a (semi-true) autobiography and the woman herself is disjointed and immature and full of curses. If someone with sever ADD had written Glass Castles (another amazing book by the way) after drinking several cups of coffee this is how I imagine it would've turned out. Maybe not for the most jaded, and not for anyone who is stuffy or super-critical, but the rest of us need to enjoy this piece of brilliance.

Should come with a warning label
I've read funny books before but this was the first that ever actually made me laugh out loud. Be aware that this could happen to you as well and learn from my mistake. Do not read while eating! It took me two separate choking incidents before I realized I really shouldn't read this book during lunch. There's not much I can say that wouldn't be a rehashing of the other 5 star reviews. The book is incredible funny, charming, relatable (on some pretty strange levels), and I'm recommending it to all my relatives and am purchasing copies for friends for Christmas.

LOL HYSTERICAL
Ok, do NOT read this book before bed - you will not put it down and it truly makes you laugh out loud - funnier than Jen Lancaster - and I used to love her books - don't love her fiction though. This book tackles such subjects as using a dead animal as a hand puppet - so it's not for the feint of heart, however, it's not as gruesome as it sounds....promise.I like that Jenny Lawson included pictures (not too many, and they don't take up space or take away from the writing).Highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys a good, old fashioned, laugh out loud!
