Heavy duty springs
I ordered these as I wanted cord locks with stronger springs than normal to overcome the problem of waterproof over-trouser draw-cords constantly coming lose. These items really do have a strong spring that should fix the problem, but I will fir two to the draw-cord to make sure.

Stops working
I found that the lace can work it’s way around the plastic locking plate and it stops working and comes loose….maybe my laces were too thin….I threw mine away as they were useless

Using with elastic no tie shoelaces
I'm using these as cord locks for elastic no-tie shoe laces. They're easy to install, they look good, and seem to hold tight enough. They might be little hard to squeeze if you have problems or issues with your fingers.So far, I'm very happy with them.
