Fast enough and cool - reads SDXC just fine
plugged into a linux box and works great. my system is limited to USB 3.0 or ~600 MB/sec. single-threaded reads get 380 MB/sec using exfat. running dd I get about 420 MB/sec on a prograde CFexpress gold type b rated at 1700 MB/sec. Runs cool and heat is no problem at all - I'm guessing the heat issue that's so often complained about with these and other CFexpress readers may be an issue with the brand of CFexpress card being used and maybe the USB mode or a combination of both. Had no problem reading SDXC - read my lexar 64GB.

It transfers data to CFExpress stow B without issues
Plugged it into my iMac through a USB3 hub and it worked without any extra configuration steps. I have been using it with a 512 GByte CF express type B and no issues so far. I love that it also works with my XQD type G cards. Just be sure you always eject on the drive icon prior to physically ejecting the card. It is an easy push in then pop out you CF or XQD card. The SD slot does not have a spring load ejection but it works ok as well. For the price I am overall very happy. There is a limitation that if you have both an SD and CF card in at the same time you can’t copy stuff to each at the same time. But you can open say a Word file on both at the same time so sequential read/writes are ok just not simultaneously- ya is is a minor inconvenience but no big issue. 5 stars for sure after using it for a month now.

Review of the VELOGK CFExpress/XQD Card Reader
The media could not be loaded. This product works as expected, can read both XQD and CFExpress cards, however, for CFExpress cards, it does not allow the CFExpress card to be ejected. This means that I have to shutdown my PC before I can safely remove the CFExpress card. For XQD cards, it allows the XQD card to be ejected. The first image is for the CFExpress card where the "Eject" option is NOT an available option. The second image is for an XQD card where the "Eject" option is available. The third image is the write and read speed test that I performed.Update 03/13/2021 - The product itself works but has NO option for the Eject option to come out as the usual option for XQD cards but the manufacturer sent me an MP4 video that even Sony's XQD card reader also behave the same way. Uploaded is the video the manufacturer/seller sent me on the correct procedure to eject the CFExpress card on their device. This is the reason I change my reviews to 4 star, 1 star less that 5 because the device had some dissipated heat after being left attached to my USB 3 port but the heat is NOT that hot as other users describe.

Died after one year, with 10 uses
First of all, works when it worked.I also confirm that other reviewers' comments on the issues about this reader are accurate:1: heat: Yes it does produce a lot of heat, even when idling. your finger can barely touch it. I installed right on the air path of the desktop's cool fan, so that helps to keep the unit cool.2: finish: the edge finishing could be improved. It's pretty sharp, although there is no cut risks, it's bad enough to make you feel uncomfortable;3: Disconnect issue: there is no way to "safely remove the device", so I had to shut down the whole OS before unplugging. But it works -- the speed is ultra fast so there is no complain on that part. The issue is, despite it being treated like a baby, it just quit working after a year and a mere 10 uses. I tried multiple PCs in the house, none can recognize the device anymore.I know I am just one of the sample points, so you can take my review with a grain of salt.

This Card Reader Does it All
For the price I was a little reluctant to purchase. I really didn't think it would do that good of a job. This card reader does SD and CF cards (both of which I use) with reliability. I've been using it for some time with zero issues. It reads quickly and transfers quickly. I take 1000s of photos at a time - so reliability and speed is important. I have no complaints. It's read anything I've put into it. There's been no errors. I would buy this product again without hesitation. This was bought when I bought a laptop that didn't have a card reader (I was shocked it didn't). The computer was a Christmas gift from my husband and he didn't realize it didn't have a card reader. This totally saved the day!

Works everytime
I have SD, QXD and CFE-A cards for my 2 digital cameras. This USA-A reader is attached to my windows PC and I use the reader weekly to import digital images. Works everytime. No problems with any of the card types I use.

Reads CFexpress cards with good speed
Decent CF express card reader. Does in excess of 300 meg/sec on my machine, which is plenty fast. No idea if the speed is limited by the device, or by my computer. Like all of them, the cards get quite hot, so unplug when done downloading. FWIW, I've left it plugged in and though it got hot, it wasn't so hot as to worry about damage or failure. Seems rugged and well made. Would buy again.
