Mostly OK, but maintenance requirements might outweigh convenience
This is a decent frother with some design shortfalls. It quickly and consistently produces a dense warm froth that can be an appealing shortcut for homemade coffee beverages, but which can't compete with the real deal (milk frothed by the steam wand of an espresso machine). The main draws of this Bodum are low cost and ease of use. There are a few annoyances, though. After use, the power cuts off, but the switch remains in the "on" position: the user must remember to manually flip it back every time before using it again. Replacing the switch with a button (or capacitive touch point) could eliminate this step..It is important to remember to thoroughly clean the frother each and every time after using it. Otherwise, a residue of scorched milk sludge will quickly build up around where the heating element is located under the base. The burned residue will get harder and harder to remove the longer you ignore it. For stubborn gunk, put some water in the frother and let it run through a cycle before trying to clean it again. Remember to use a soft non-abrasive cloth, so as to not cause damage to the non-stick coating. If you have short fingers, this might be a little challenging, as the depth of the frothing chamber is just a little bit deeper than you might be able to comfortably reach. If this all ounds like a pain, it is. lolThis is happens with every electric milk frother, though: at least the Bodum has a magnetic frothing ring that is easy to remove and reattach to make the cleaning process a little less annoying.Another solution for making cleanup less of a PITA is to turn off the frother before it completes its cycle: that way, it will not have as much scorched milk residue. It is a tradeoff, of course, since the froth won't be totally warm (and it is one more thing you have to remember to manually do), but at least it will mean less soaking and wiping time afterward..Aesthetically, the unit looks attractive but basic. The tactile impression it gives is less satisfying: in the hand, it feels less robust than some of its competitors, but that isn't surprising given its pricepoint. (Nobody should even consider the overpriced Nespresso frother, which costs several times as much as the Bodum but is functionally similar.)Honestly, this should probably be a $15 product rather than a $25 one, but If you go into this purchase with realistic expectations, you will probably be mostly-pleased.If you don't care about heating the milk, or just don't want to constantly be cleaning scorched residue sticking to the non-stick reservoir of this machine, consider a manual frother.Bodum makes an inexpensive manual one with a glass vessel and a plunger that makes very good froth and avoids some of the pitfalls of this electric model. It is easier to clean, requires no electricity, and is a good minimalistic option. I am trying to reconcile myself to the inconveniences of this electric frother, but even writing about the manual plunger model makes me miss its simplicity and ease of upkeep.

Perfect amount of froth fast and quiet!
I have had at least 6 frothers and this one is the best! It is compact, yet froths and warms the perfect amount of milk. It is quiet, quick and easy to clean with a nifty little magnetic whiparoo. I'm obsessed 😍 it isn't much bigger than large glass, making it too easy to froth, add vanilla, take entire canister (the base is plugged in, not the canister) to living room, eat warm froth with spoon and repeat, repeat, repeat. You see what I mean? Obsessed!

Solid performance
Better than most we have owned. Owned a total of 5 over last 3 yrs. Does a good job of heating milk and creating foam. Units on average last about 6 months before they start slowing down
