I bought this book so my mom and I could work together to make diapers for my little bun in the oven. I bought two different colors of PUL, one yard each. Doing it this way limits how many diapers you can get out of one cut. A 2 yard cut of one color will get you 15, but if you are going for different colors know that you won't be able to squeeze fifteen out of two 1 yard cuts. I had one of my girlfriends who has a 6 month old baby try out our first completed diaper, the tester. She was surprised at how much it absorbed. She wasn't expecting it to perform as well as her store bought cloth diapers but she was impressed. She said she didn't think the diaper would fit her little girl much past one year old and so I may need to modify the next round of diapers to be a bit bigger. The only part of these diapers I do not understand is why there are two pieces of loop on the front of each flap. It seems like you will only ever be using one side to overlap (for when they are really small) and all I can think of is she put it on there so it is symmetrical. Velcro is not cheap and I have not found a way to buy just loop without the hook, and since you use a LOT of loop for these diapers, I would skip that extra 3 inch tab per diaper and just sew that piece on one side. Also, it doesn't explain it until the end, but the piece of one and half inch loop on the inside of the tab is so you can fold the hook onto it before washing it so the hook doesn't snag on your other diapers. If anyone can explain why you need both 3 inch pieces of loop on the front tabs please enlighten me! My little one hasn't been born yet and I don't plan on using these diapers until the second month or so when she is big enough to fit into them but I will update my review with anything else that seems like it would be helpful as a follow up.

I've been experimenting with different kinds of cloth diapers for most of my son's 3 1/2 months of life, and this book was a game changer for me. It's absolutely amazing. Ms. Berry goes into all the details from how to draft the pattern to what materials are the best choices (both her #1 choice and several other acceptable options) to sewing directions and more. It's by far the best resource I've found on the subject on DIY cloth diapers. It was also refreshing to read how her motivations financial as well as wanting to be Earth-friendly. I loved her honesty in admitting that she simply wanted to save money. And save money she did - and I will, too, using her pattern and tips. I've spent the past two days researching the supplies and have calculated that I'll be able to make 15 diapers for around $45-$50. That's about half the price of buying 6 commercially made cloth diapers. And (if mine turn out as good as hers), these are way cuter, too.I'm so glad I spent the $5 on this book instead of continuing to try to find free information online. This was so much better than anything else I've found! Thank you!**UPDATE 12/27/2013**I've been using the diapers I made with this book on my little guy for over a year now, and they're still going strong! Definitely worth the money for the book AND the time/money spent making the diapers. I don't even know how much money I've saved using these diapers. My only critique is that the diapers don't do well overnight. If you're looking for an overnight cloth diaper, I recommend modifying the pattern to make a pocket diaper as opposed to an AIO and doubling up on the padding. (This is not a project I've tackled yet; for the time being, we're using these during the day and disposables at night.)

I really like this book and have now made 2 diapers very successfully. Back to why only 2 in a minute. The book is very detailed and has good step by step instructions. The website that is listed to buy supplies was great and I got my materials very quickly. There are a few missing instructions. It never mentions to wash the Zorb first. It also doesn't explain that the 2 small pieces of velcro can be folded onto each other before throwing them in the wash, which is a great idea! Also, the pictures and some of the instructions don't quite match up on Step 6. I followed the picture instead of what was written.I have all the materials cut for another 13. However, I wish I hadn't cut all the materials out first like the book recommends. I wish I had made one and checked the fit for my almost 5 month old. He has skinny legs and these diapers are way too big for him right now. I can only hope that he will grow into them or I've wasted all this time. If I hadn't cut out all the materials in advance, I could have altered them to fit my baby. Now that they are all cut, I'm not sure how to do this! It also takes quite a bit of time, which is hard to come by with a new baby, so I'm not sure it's really saving me money in the end.

I was not sure if I wanted to try this book since it only had 3 reviews I was unsure if it was worth the price, but it was! It kept to the point and did not lose focus. Yes it is a book for making AIO, OS Cloth Diapers but she makes sure to go over things like fabric choices and also offer her suggestions so you can make different choices if you would like or use what she uses. The book is very easy to read and understand and the pictures help a lot. My husband and I have not made a diaper as if yet (waiting for my sewing machine to come in the mail) but we have made our diaper pattern thanks to her easy directions. Her pattern offers the hoop and loop option only but I am going to play with it and try some snaps as well!!UPDATE!!!I LOVE this pattern!! I have made a couple of diapers and they fit my 2 month old daughter great with plenty of room to grow. I actually altered the pattern a bit to make them pocket diapers instead of AIO's. I can not wait to make more because I end of only spending $125 for 30 diapers!!! Can't bet that anywhere. I also suggest buying your materials from WAHMSupply.com it is a great site and is mentioned in the book. If you want to save money buy this book and make your own diapers!!

Fabulous book! I would recommend this to anyone attempting to make cloth diapers. The instructions are top notch with great pictures for further reference. The extra sewing tips were an added bonus. I love this book. I made a set of 20 diapers and the fit is perfect. I am more than pleased with this book and will recommend it to others.
