A Must Have Drawing Book for Kids by Rachel Goldstein
I recently purchased Rachel Goldstein's first book called Drawing for Kids With Letters in Easy Steps. I was very impressed with the book and my grandchildren are really enjoying it. My wife and I also did some of the drawings. The method the author uses to show how to draw makes it a lot easier than if you were to just try it on your own. When Ms. Goldstein came out with her new book I immediately ordered it. She uses the same method of showing how the subject is drawn, except this time the drawings are more detailed because she uses full words instead of individual letters.Written instructions are limited, It is mostly the progression of the initial word to the complete drawing of what the word represents. For example the word BOY is used to draw a very nice picture of a boy. The author does give little hints along the way.As in her first book Ms. Goldstein leaves a space on the page, right next to her picture so the person drawing can give it a try. I like that idea, but my grandchildren are also trying it on a separate sheet of paper so they can draw a larger picture. Both books are fun to use and my grandchildren as well as my wife and I have enjoyed creating very nice pictures of Sleepy Teddy Bears, Peaceful Sailboats and Hooty Owls.

Fun. I use this with my elementary language arts intervention group. I with it had more words, not just letters.
