Mace Window Sensor for Security

Good unit and works as advertised. Wanted to use it inside my metal shop about 125 feet away and had to be creative on boosting the reception capability in order to make it work. After all, rf signals and metal enclosures don't work too well together.

The door sensor works but the alarm isnt much of decoy. It only sounds for a few seconds. When used with the entire system(keypad) again it works but if you want quality features this wont do it. If you just want something very basic yes this works. Just dont expect a brinks like system.

This wasn't for me, I ordered it for a friend, but I also helped her program it, or rather the system it extends. Her place is tiny so I have no clue about the range. There is a sensor and a magnet and you mount it so opening the door/window separates them. If you line the two up well and firmly connect them you won't have any problems and there are arrows to help you.

I am giving this two stars for the following reason:When installing this Door\Window Sensor (which is actually a Door\Window Sensor ALARM). You are provided a screw mounting template which is good for installing the screws in the exact location - however, the screws they furnished me for my sensor the screw heads were too large - making me have to make several installation attempts for my door leave holes in the frame which should never had happened if the proper sized head screws were furnished or the mounting holes in the sensor where larger.The sensor\alarm seems to be OK and work OK but delays sending the alarm signal to the LCD Panel when activated, if you have the keypad remote, the signal should be sent immediately.Also - when I ordered this what I received was not the Door\Window Sensor I wanted and ordered what I received was a Mace Motion Detector which I have to return. Not sure who is responsible but Amazon seems to have it right with the photo so seems the seller got it wrong. Also it took too long of time to arrive. You can get these quicker through other sources.

I don't like having strangers install secruity systems in my home so this systme was an amazing option. Very easy to install and works like a charm! Love it.
