I purchased this for my 1 year old nephew. He LOVED it. The shape pieces do come offf (not a choking hazard as they are big). Helps match shapes and the spinning is awesome for kids. The entire thing can move/be manipulated. It’s just fun for really a one! We tested to make sure fingers don’t get pinched! And they do not 😊. Even my 7 year old loves it.

I loved that the gear bases were all permanently connected to each other. This means less pieces to get lost and more importantly that little ones can play with it and not need to attach pieces to get them working.For my 1-year old it’s mainly a fidget toy for manual dexterity. He likes spinning the pieces and can sometimes put the gears on the shapes. I expect the colors and shapes will lead to learning opportunities over the next 12-18 months.

2 year old loves it. He loves gear and anything that spins.

The chunky pieces are easy for a baby or toddler to manipulate. The colors coincide with shapes which makes it easier to match up. Anyway it is moved the gears connect and work with each other. This was a really wonderful purchase got the child I babysit for she was 14 months old when I bought it for her and she still loves it and she is 19 months old. I highly recommend it.

I bought this for my son’s 1st birthday, and it is perfect! He already had a few different kinds of shape sorters, but they haven’t interested him much yet. He loves things that turn & spin so I thought he might like this. It’s a very clever design and there are many ways to play with it. For the first few days he liked just spinning the shapes and removing the outside rings and tossing them to the side. I loved how easily the rings fit back onto the shapes though and guessed that it wouldn’t be long before he’d be able to get them back on if he tried. The circle is the easiest, but all the others fall back into place almost just as easily except for the heart which is just slightly trickier.I modelled it for him by repeatedly taking off the outside ring from the circle and putting it back on, and then he copied me and got it back on after a couple of attempts. I praised him a lot and he took it off again and put it back on again, and then continued to do it over & over and he got quicker and more consistent with getting it back on on the first try.The next time he played with it, he tried taking off & replacing another one of the shapes’ rings and did it over & over once he got it the first time.A couple of times he took a few of the rings off at once, and then he had more trouble because he hasn’t yet got the hang of the fact that each ring will only fit on one shape, but I love that there’s still a lot for him to grow into with learning how to play with this toy. So far, his grandma & I were more interested than the baby in the way the whole unit can make different shapes and how we could make more or fewer of the “cogs/gears” fit into each other as it turned, but I imagine that part will entertain him at some point in the future too.I chose a lot of toys for his birthday, but I think this was the best of the ones I chose. So happy I got it!

my 13 month old has many toys and this one is his favorite for couple of weeks already. He learned how to put shapes back with this and he is very proud of himself. He doesn't care about much about other shape games or puzzles. This one is very easy to play with and fun for 1 year old!
