This is a fantastic book about what persevering with your dreams no matter what stands in your way. It's gritty and entertaining and unlike a lot of books about fighting has many bits of humour throughout.

Great book
Very good book, I have read many books on bare knuckle fighting, gangsters etc.. And this is one of the best. And as an avid golf fan and player this was perfect for me. The prejudice by others that people have to suffer hinder dreams and this is a perfect example. I have no doubt Joe would have gone on to achieve great things but for the jealously of others.

Fascinating autobiography on a gypsy life of crime - and golf
This is a great read. No need to be a golfer or a boxing fan; it's just a riveting story, with lots of insights - not only into gypsy life as it is today but also into the criminal underworld. I read it in one take. Joe is honest about his mistakes and weaknesses, and not proud of some of the things he's done. But he seems to have come out the other side, and is clear about what he sees as right and wrong. I especially liked his observation that the nastier a criminal is, the more fervently he's proclaimed to be 'diamond geezer' by the hangers on who surround him. Deserves to be a bestseller.
