Briefly, my background — I've dabbled in everything from scouting knots to rock climbing to pulling down trees with a welder's work truck.I really like reliable cheap shackle/carabiner-type equipment that's steel, because it tends to be both stronger and cheaper than rock climber's aluminum equipment. But steel shackles tend to have one downside — they can have sharp edges, sometimes even burrs, that scrape hands or damage rope.This product though, there's zero sharp edges. Also, it looks like it might actually hold more weight than the stated 1000 lbs, it looks really beefy.

Works just perfectly for holding my boat in the boat slip.I’m not very good a tying knots.make my life so much easier.

These hooks are great for skidding logs when you are hooking and unhooking the rope repetitivelybecause there is nothing to snag the rope. I will be purchasing more of these!

Work as advertised

I purchased a dive reel to use with a kayak anchor. The reel included a smaller version of this type of snap hook that was a little too small to work with the mushroom anchor. This hook is twice the size of the original reel hook and works much better. It's an impressive hook and worth the money.

bought these for my wave runners. the 316 stainless seems to be holding up good so far. they are exposed to salt water.
