Another' fun children's story.
This story takes the children on a cruise with their mother, where they meet a boy holidaying with his aunt and treasure hunting uncle, their mother gets replaced with Bill, and as always adventure ensues. A purchased ship in a bottle contains a treasure map, and the children, while trying to get help with it, expose themselves to unscrupulous treasure hunters who want to steal the treasure for themselves.

A good book for all ages
Although Enid Blyton has written the Adventure series for children, I think it can be enjoyed by all ages. This is the third book in the series I have reread for nostalgic value. I read most of the series way back when I was in primary school, and I have found it most enjoyable to read some of them again. In The Ship of Adventure the four children, who get caught up an an amazing adventure every summer holiday, go on a nice safe cruise, but after they discover a secret in a ship in a bottle, they are off to a mysterious "dead" island in the Greek Islands in search of a long lost treasure. Fortunately Bill is there to help them fight of the bad guys. This is a great story, and I definitely recommend it, no matter how old (or young) you are.

The Ship of Adventure
As always, the kids are sick and have to go to a warm setting to recover from illness. The ship does not refer to their going on a ship to travel, but their finding/buying a small ship in a bottle. The folk story that ties in with the ship in the bottle sends the kids on the adventure. and the kids have to figure out who the "bad guys" are with the requisite help from Bill, and figure out the secret of the ship in the bottle to find the treasure. It is one of the better books in the series.

Original script, gripping adventure story.
A favourite from my childhood days. This edition was published in 2014 by Macmillan Children's Books, but has the text copyright of 1950 Hodder and Stoughton Ltd, thereby the original script, making the plot just as gripping as when I read it over 40 years ago. Also, well wrapped, in good condition and received 3 days after ordering. Impressed.

Oh I say!
A ship, a treasure map, a deserted Greek Island, a nasty treasure hunter and his feckless son... all add up to one of the best 'Adventure' books. This adventure also includes a pet monkey as well as Kiki the parrot - confined for much of the time in a small cabin with a porthole. The mind boggles as to what state this cabin was in after a few hot days cruising but fortunately the ships motor conks out and the children get to explore the local islands in a bid to find the ancient lost treasure on the abandoned island of Thamis. My 6 and 8 year olds remain enthralled.

Grandson loves these books!
Great old fashioned stories of treasure, underground passages and ‘baddies’.Made entertaining by the parrot Kiki and the unusual pets gathered during the adventure.

One of the best
The gang are taken on à cruise in the hope that it would keep them out of trouble. A treasure map they find changes all that.
