Not was I was expecting. This is a basic book that covers just some of what you would learn in 1st year in a fashion degree program. This might be good for those that want a brief introduction into the basics of fashion design though. It covers a lot of different topics, such as how to use color in a collection and how to render your designs on paper, but does not delve into any given area past a basic surface level. Also, please note that this book does not aid with any technical sewing or pattern making skill development.

Great addition to my reference library
A worthwhile purchase. I am not a Fashion Student. I like to sew clothes for myself and my grandbaby. This was a very interesting read and has helped to fill in some blank spaces regarding designing my own clothes.

I can't begin to describe all that I have learned from this fantastic book. Mr. Calderin is an amazing teacher who has pushed me to evolve my design ideas much further than I could on my own.
