Q: I want to use these to turn aluminium roundstock, would need to be able to hold solid metal roughly 3.5" in diameter, would these jaws do the job?

The jaws open 3” to grab project. They push out 3 1/4” for spigot attachment. Anything over that won’t work, unless you ordered larger jaws. I would email the company, and explain what you want to do. I use this chuck for turning wood.

Q: Is this chuck reversible?

I’m not sure what you mean by reversible . The Chuck works well on a spigot, or recess very well. The jaws are beveled on the outside, which grab and lock on to the piece tightly. Jaws don’t have threads, thus leaving no marks in the recess.

No only wen products. They do make other jaws
