Just one bad apple or a branch does not mean the rest to be also condemned. Never judge the book by its cover are the morals to draw from this movie. and sadly very many learn the hard way even in real life. Raj Kapoor as if just passed away yesterday and I was not even aware of the death. I have known him since my childhood as one of the greatest artists the Film and Entertainment Industry has ever created. This movie was also his creation and his loved ones also added a lot of flavours to make the best out of every RK Production. Excellent story, music, photography and songs. Special thanks also to the seller for bringing some of the best entertainment from India to the very many who now call America their home as well.

Zeenat Aman is just plain babelicious in this. She acts beautifully, too, giving a very sympathetic character. Beautiful scenes & photography. Shashi Kapoor overacts at times, & most glaringly, no reason is given for his character's big flaw, which is the crux of the film. But still worth seeing for Zeenat & the scenery.

Sad but a great movie with great songs. A line in one of the songs is like this "Daya karo prabho", which means Lord have mercy, I guess! That line makes that song far greater than Adele's "Hello" or Don McLean's "Crying". Now, the missing part, no subtitles to most songs.Thanks

Raj Kapoor's unusual and literally disfigured love story "Satyam Shivam Sundaram" (translated as,Truth Godliness Beauty) is one of the most sensationalistic Bollywood films ever produced. It's pretense is based on a touching love story about a disfigured young woman who shows a vain man that beauty is more than skin deep. The theme may be "Beauty and the Beast" but the out come is as one critic states, "more skin than story"

Surprisingly good copy, good picture and sound. English subtitles except during the songs for some reason. The film itself is a classic and Zeenat is a dream.

I first saw this film in years of youth.

One of the best Bollywood movie from back in the days - Great music, great script, lovely story to recommand to all.Although the special effect and the costumes might look a bit agy, the story remains captivating, a true romantic tell that will seduce the whole family.
