Simply brilliant for the money
Have now used these a few times in medium strength rain over a half hour commute and have to say they are the best 'waterproof' item of cycle clothing I've ever purchased.I'm sure water would start coming through in longer wet rides or in heavy rain / storm conditions but not so far in any of the rides I've taken in them. these easily outperform my £200 Gore-Tex jacket in terms of water proofing even after that's been reproofed. They're warm and snug but breathability is superb too. Anything under 15C and you won't get hot in theseFit was as expected and they're a bit bulkier than normal tights so offer a lot more modesty. I happily wear these without shorts over the top as I would always wear with typical running style tightsthe only minor gripe is that for my personal fit I sometimes have to pull up the back of the waistband to stop the comfort pad catching on the saddle when climbing but once pulled up it stays pulled up (for a while at least)HIGHLY recommend overall.

Slightly Dissapointed
After all the glowing reports I'm slightly disappointed.Material and stitching are quality they seem to be made well (time will tell), they are soft and (slightly) fleecy inside, I bought the XL size even though I'm only 34" waist (XL is 35"-37") and surprisingly they are a good fit, I wouldn't like them any smaller.I wouldn't use the pockets, the insides go directly to the groin area, some cycling pants have the pockets pointing backwards. The pad is a reasonable fit, not perfect but not bad, it's notoriously hard to find a well fitting pad.My biggest issue with these pants is the leg length, my inside leg is 32", these pants could do with an extra 2" on the length, no point in being warm and dry when your ankles are wet and freezing, the only way round this issue is to wear thermal waterproof socks.Overall these are decent pants, maybe closer to a 4 star rating but because of the issues above and I think they are slightly expensive I've awarded them a 3 star, still worth buying thoughNOTE. Many reviews for this item are very similar, something that makes me very suspicious, always think before you buy !

At last a decent pair of winter tights for the older rider
I have been looking for winter cycling tights that were not too tight or revealing for years; these are nearly perfect, and mean I can turn up at my cycling group looking like a proper bike rider. Thicker than Summer tights and reasonably warm and offer at least shower protection; two small pockets for essentials and zips at the ankle. Padding is quite thin and I usually wear padded underwear as well, purists might disagree. Fabric looks tough and quite stretchy, At 6'2" and 14stone 7 the XL is a good fit, the long leg just right.

Waterproof legs, but rear end not waterproof at all???
hmmm, well they arrived with a hole in one of the front pockets so not sure about quality control to begin with, when I queried this with the seller I received no response. They have a strange fit, not quite snug in the right places, but they do keep your legs reasonably warm. But biggest problem with this product is that it is not completely waterproof, the legs, and front groin area have a waterproof finish. But, bizarrely, the entire rear-end area is not waterproof at all???, the waterproof coating that’s on the rest of the trousers was completely left out of this part. What this means is that while the lower part and front of your legs will stay dry during rain, within about 5 minutes of cycling in the rain, and water splashing up from the rear tire as it does, your rear-end is completely soaked. This is the one part of your body you want to remain dry when in the saddle. For that reason I would not recommend this product at all as it simply doesn’t perform. And it makes me wonder about the authenticity of many of the glowing reviews for these trousers on amazon.

Disappointing
. I'm 6 foot tall, weigh 12st 2lbs and have a 35 inch waist. The label in the trousers was XL, as was the one on the bag, so not convinced I had been sent the correct version. The leg measured 30.5 inches to the crotch seam; too short. They were a snug fit on my hips and waist. The knee was too tight, with no articulation, despite a seam across each hamstring. When I eased the legs up to try compensating they bunched badly behind the knees and were too tight on my calves. The back was too low; more like an ordinary trouser than a cycling specific one. They had a bulky chamois measuring 4 inches wide at the crotch. The trousers appeared well made but designed by someone who knew little about cycling wear.I returned them promptly via the Amazon returns system, including signed-for postage, but had to chase to get a refund.

... second pair for my husband as he was so pleased with his first pair
Just bought a second pair for my husband as he was so pleased with his first pair. He wears them all winter through challenging Scottish weather and reckons they are best leggings he has tried In 30 plus years of cycling in all weathers . Very good customer service too .

Great but sizing smaller than label says.
Great leggings; good quality and warm. Would have given a 5 but the size was not accurate. They come up so tight on the legs that I had to give them to my son, who is much slimmer build than his father, whom they were bought for.

Have tried twicw now and would recommend for commute to work but not long rides on Road bike saddle. Lack of bib to hold up means seat of pants tends to slip and need hitching up regularly. As I said though I will use for the daily commute to work which is only 6 miles.
