As a Girl Scout Leader I would highly recommend the emergency survival kit by True Valor for my older scouts and any of my outdoor fanatics. I love that such a small compact thing can hold so many life saving devices. The contents are wrapped tightly inside the paracord and the thin blue line you see holds the emergency whistle. Upon opening the kit you will find fishing hooks, fishing line, 2 floats, 2 weights, the knife blade which is the brown package you see in the photo, fire starter(the hair), tinder, alcohol pad, 2 swivels, tin foil, 2 safety pins, iron wire, and a needle for sewing. It small compact size is lightweight and can easily be stored just about anywhere or clipped using the provided C-clip. It states that some materials are lead based so I wouldn’t recommend it for younger scouts. The company does send a portion of proceeds to families of fallen/injured law enforcement officers which I greatly admired. You definitely get your monies worth when you purchase this 2 pack survival kit. The cord is strong and made of good quality material so it is durable. Several of the products are reusable so even after you open it you can still use some of the items again and again. The only thing I would have liked to have seen is perhaps a website that you can go to prior to using the kit or perhaps a small piece of paper inside the kit that explains briefly how to use some of the products for a newbie! I've been busy getting my 'bug out' bag together. These little Emergency Survival Kits are amazing! And I thought I'd add it to my bugout bag. Then I realized how handy this in and of itself.
