The Complete Art of Guild Wars: ArenaNet 20th Anniversary Edition Hardcover – April 7, 2020

Gw2 is my favorite MMORPG, and I couldn't wait to have this art book:Pros:It uses the same aesthetics as the game's images, like watercolor paintings.The weapons, armor, and characters look wonderfulIn general, the information is interesting to read and is not usually seen in other places.Cons:I think there is a lot more information about Gw1 and its expansions and very little about Gw2. Furthermore, I think the book predates the 2 expansions, so it has little information about HoT or PoF not to mention EoD or SotO.It is still an excellent collector's piece for those of us who like games, books, and art.Gw2 es mi MMORPG favorito, y no me podía quedar con las ganas de tener este libro de arte:Pros:Maneja la misma estetica de las imagenes del juego, tipo pinturas con acuarelas.Las armas, armaduras y personajes se ven maravillososEn general la info es curiosa de leer y no se suele ver en otros lugares.Contras:Creo que hay mucha mas info sobre el Gw1 y sus expansiones y muy poco del Gw2, además, creo que el libro es anterior a las expansiones de 2, entonces tiene poca info sobre HoT o PoF y ya ni hablar de EoD o de SotO.Igual es una excente pieza de colección para quienes nos gusta el juego, los libros y el arte.

I played GW2 when I was 15 and Guild wars when I was 9. Now I’m 23 and I’m a full time freelance illustrator because my love of this game’s art got me into illustrating. The book covers more than I expected, and I bought it used but it was well worth. Don’t expect every ounce of artwork but it PACKS this book of every piece of art from guild wars prophecies to GW2 POF. Thanks Guild Wars for being such an influential MMO to my life to the point that without you I may have never found my calling.

Hundreds of beautiful concept artworks fill this book, illustrating the creations of Guild Wars 1-Guild Wars 2 Living Seasons.Short tidbits explain the background of the characters and world of Tyria. There is even a section for Guild Wars: Utopia - the cancelled campaign which was partially incorporated into the EOTN expansion.It's fun to look at all the gear and character designs and compare them to the finished products in-game, all of which are wonderfully detailed within this book.Landscapes, cities, and more lie within - this is perfect for a lover of Guild Wars. Well worth the asking price in my opinion!

Beautiful book full of artwork

If you're a Guild Wars fan and just wanted a coffee table collection of some of Anet's finest illustrations, this is perfect.If you're an artist looking for reference, process, or development material, this book doesn't offer much besides high-quality prints the art itself. Most of the copy is focused on detailing the "lore" of the GW universe instead of how the art and look of the GW franchise was developed. Between Guild Wars' wiki pages and Google Images, there's not much in this book you can't already find online.
