Christmas gift for son. It was much smaller than I expected but he really liked it and is going to buy another one. Seemed a little pricey, but it is very good quality. Will look nice on table. And will definitely keep whatever is on it hot.

We had a dinner party on our deck one evening...the menu was steak, potatoes, asparagus and mushrooms/onions...after all was grilled and ready to serve I began serving our guest with these plates...they were hot off the grill, roomy and a very nice touch...by the time everyone had a plate of food...all was still hot...even sizzling! How can you go wrong with Lodge cast iron! you can't!

Nice size and keeps the heat. I wish the wood chargers were a little thicker and had some kind of finish on them.

These platters are wonderful for enjoying sizzling steaks, chops, etc. keeping your meat hot while enjoying. A bit expensive but well worth the cost. Try them and enjoy!

I love these cast iron plates! I put them in the oven when I'm cooking so they are nice and hot.Note. The wood bases are unfinished and underwhelming so I stained and sealed them. I added cork spacers to the inside of the wood base so the hot plate doesn't burn the sealer on the wood.I would STRONGLY recommend seasoning the inside and outside of the cast iron plates AGAIN before you use them. Buy Flaxseed oil and coat the entire plate. Put it upside down (put aluminum foil on the bottom of the oven to catch any drops) in the oven and heat it to 500F. Once at 500F bake it for 60 minutes. Let cool slowly in the oven over night.I wash it with water (no soap) and stainless steel chain nail to remove any food, then heat it on the stove to make sure it is 100% dry!

This item is particularly pricey for the product. The base that the cast iron pan fits onto is raw wood. The wood is nearly screaming to be finished. They look pretty rustic, and are prone to stains if food falls onto the wood. For the price the wood should be finished and protected. I saw the other reviews to this effect and figured it was not such a big issue. It was. Purchase this knowing you will be disappointed. With all that said it is easily remedied with learnable basic woodworking skill if you are into that thing. The sizzle platter is thick and sturdy and I have used it on the stove-top, oven, and broiler with no problems. no issues with the cast iron part which was the primary purpose for ordering this platter set.

I LOVE these!!! I bought two sets to reheat food in my Breville smart oven. They work perfectly! And the wooden liners allow me to take the platter right to the table without worrying about damaging anything with hot iron. Their size is perfect for individual servings and the price is excellent here on Amazon! I will buy more for company as I can also fry sausage and eggs on them and then take them right to the table. Just make sure you pull them off the heat right before the eggs are done as they will keep cooking! Lol
